The hotel is newly refurbished and in general comfortable.

But during our stay the swimming pool was under repair.

For the level of hotel it is the breakfast is very poor and very expensive. The pool was being renovated. They should have put that on the website when you make a reservation.

Very nice small hotel. Good air conditioner.

Fantastic location, a short walk from Prado museum. Very secure area since across the street from the government house of representatives. New property with everyone really aiming to please. The staff in the retaurant were at a level of a 5 star resto!

I wish the old cage elevator was working!

It's very clean, posh boutique hotel with helpful staff. It's also near some important building with police which makes it feels very safe. Breakfast is usual European breakfast but very well made.

It's just a personal preference, I do find the bed and pillows too soft for my bad back.

The hotel blends modern elegance with classic charm, offering every comfort and detail you could hope for. I was on a mother-son trip and wanted something truly special—El Autor delivered beyond expectations. The rooms were beautiful, the pillows incredibly comfortable, and the vintage elevator is a must-experience (though they also have a modern one). Breakfast was delightful—while the buffet is limited, the team will happily prepare anything you request.

The only downside is the price, but honestly, it was worth every penny. You truly get what you pay for.
