The location of the lodge and the deck overlooking the crocodile river are the selling points for this place. Joan's service was also excellent.

The unit needs to be cleaned, I found a sweet packet in the kitchen unit which who knows how long was there. The lighting is not adequate, it is dark inside. And lastly the layout of the unit needs a rethink, we cooked in the kitchen downstairs but ate on the deck upstairs.

The owner can definitely invest more into the house, upgrade a bit. It can be a gem after some upgrades.

Location was excellent - had a wonderful view of Kruger - might just need to keep check on the height of some of trees, as i think that soon they might start impeding on the view. Access to the key was very easy and a great initiative, as it was not necessary to inconvenience agent to have her wait for us to check in. The alarm system also gave piece of mind, knowing that we can activate it when we left the unit. Agent was very friendly, helpful and kind. Cleaning staff also very friendly! We had quite a few animals coming to visit, which was really great! The birdhide is close to the unit for an early morning/afternoon walk. Also had some good sightings from there.

I was very excited that there was a hammock (as per the photos) however, when we arrived there was no sign of it. When i contacted the agent, she advised that the baboons had broken it the previous week - however, we were not advised of this, and therefore had the expectation that it would be there, so please could i ask that you ensure that what you have on your pictures, are there (I know that "things" happen, but it would have been better to rather advise.) I also enquired about wi-fi and was advised that there was wifi -however, when we arrived and i queried it, then i was advised that there was a problem and that it would only be rectified the following week - the agent however, did provide alternative wifi, for which we were very grateful. On the website, it states that there are 2 bathrooms, which is misleading - as it is in fact only 1 1/2 bathrooms, as the other bathroom does not have a shower - if we had invited friends, this could have been a bit awkward, however, as it was just us a family, we did manage. The light in the kitchen is placed in a very bad place, if it is on, it shines directly into the main bedroom - so a suggestion would be to move it onto the ceiling instead. The security gate is difficult to close, as it seems that the little wheel is stuck. The clothes rack in the main bedroom should possibly be secured to the wall to prevent it from falling over. The mosquito nets in the upstairs bedroom are full of holes - would need to be replaced before summer. No mosquito net in the downstairs bedroom. Please do not see this as complaining - this is to be seen as constructive feedback - as all in all, we had a lovely time there and will definitely be back! As this is a new listing on Booking.com, believe that this could only improve your guests experience and am sure that they will return.
