It was a beautiful property with a lot of history the location was excellent and it was a wonderful experience.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was lovely and comfortable. There were various characterful communal lounge and snug areas to enjoy with books, games and even a piano to enjoy. Breakfast was good.

Plastic teabags (they are local and posh but need to be biodegradable). The view over the back wasn’t so great from room 7 (which can’t be changed); breakfast was nice but for the price it could do with more options - and more than one juice option and needing to ask for it to be topped up. They’re very minor things but for the standard of the hotel, would make it a 10

Central location. Tastefully converted , retaining the period features which reflect its history as an ancient coaching hostelry. Lovely food and attentive service. Although parking is not available on site, we had no problem parking nearby.

The showers need bathmats as they were very slippery. When I raised this at reception, the response was an immediate apology and that mats would be ordered.

We spent a weekend walking along the Kennet & Avon canal and stayed our first night here. It's SUCH a delightful little hotel, with a lovely bar downstairs, friendly staff and an upstairs sitting room area too. Not that you need that because the room was huge anyway, with a sofa in and a view out over the the little town. The bath was SUCH a delight after a long day walking. The big bed was lovely too, so comfy with lovely pristine sheets. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

Nothing - we loved this place.
