Amarilla Golf Villas

The location for golfing was great and generally it was a large unit to stay in. The place was clean.

Overpriced and everything nearby has closed down. The place is not maintained to a high standard with discolored and broken chairs in unit 1. The pool is in the shade most of the day and so very cold even in the strong heat we were in. Rooms were small, showers were cold and there was no cleaning so bins were overflowing.

The villa was very smart. Lovely kitchen, good decoration, plenty of dishes/utensils. Outside area was very nice with swimming pool right outside our door. Onsite cafe/bar/restaurant. Supermarket right across the road.

We picked up keys from onsite cafe/bar/restaurant. There was no sign of Jon who was so keen to meet us when we booked! A staff member came and opened the door for us! and advised us to get back to them if we needed anything. We searched for an electrical point to plug in the kettle and when we couldn't find it, we unplugged the dishwasher and used that point at floor level for the 10 days we were there - not very safe. Only when we were ready to leave did we find an extension plug tucked down the side of the worktop. This should have been on display when we arrived. Very noisy as we were so close to the airport. Apart from the onsite venue, which didn't open until 11am, there were few places to go. It was too cold and windy to do very much - generally you're not really equipped for the weather we had when you go on holiday. Nothing down at the harbour, but an ok walk - thought there might be pubs, etc. down there. Unless you're a golfer there's nothing to do here and the weather was so bad we were unable to sunbathe!

The staff and food at 19th hole, onsite restaurant was reasonably priced with lovely food and friendly staff. We had 1 x pasta, 2 x Salmon, 1 x burger, 2 x beers and 2 x cokes and was 80 Euros. Apartment has the potential to be exceptional but it was not. It was very clean and spacious. Towels for pool also provided. The aesthetics of the pool area was good. Sunbeds were also good. There weren't many people using them so if it was fully booked I don't think there'd be enough, but there was for us with our 5 night stay. 10 minute walk to marina and restaurants along sea front, great views.

Unit 2 Apartment had so many things that didn't work properly. TV - didn't work, no remote to even turn on. 2 x Fridges- one had no shelves and icebox didn't work for ice cream ( it melted) great as a beer fridge. The other wasn't much better, the door seal wouldn't seal properly. I was told to " turn it up" I laughed at this and propped a chair up against the door to keep it closed. Investment required here, plenty of space just put in a larder style fridge. Not enough crockery - i don't want to be washing up on my holiday to have enough crockery for each meal. ( we self catered 2 meals and arkte out for lunch generally) This was rectified on the evening of day 4. But still only 4 mugs and a load of crockery that looks like you got it from a house clearance. Dishwasher did not release the tablet properly so even if you did use Dishwasher it didn't wash properly, tablet got stuck in dispenser- every time, and was just a gooey mess. Pool - freezing NOT solar heated as stated. My kids ( 12yr olds) could only stay in it about 20 minutes before turning blue Jacuzzi bath - did not work - the kids got cold in the pool and wanted a bath to warm them up - ran bath, all set - jets didn't work! If you advertise it, it should be in working order available to use. Architrave round one of the bedroom doors was hanging off, sofas inside dated and didn't for with the modern interior but they were comfortable. Not all light bulbs worked either, frustrating. Beds comfortable but pillows not, one was really hard the other really soft- managed but they also could do with pillow protectors. I emailed our contact who told me to contact staff at 19th hole who would help us. They couldn't. Eventually I got the number of someone else who did call me but not until the Tuesday of our stay, 3 days after initial contact. They did sort the TV, light bulbs, crockery ( with exception of mugs). Not the other things.

The views and scenery are amazing! It was so peaceful and we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves.

The property is huge! So much space with 3 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms and a lovely big kitchen and seating area both inside and out. The shop straight across the road made it easy to stock up on supplies for the weekend and there are plenty bars and restaurants around.
