"Marvellous"

10.0

We have just had a wonderful week at Crippens while we performed a play at The Malthouse Theatre. The beautiful old house is exceptionally comfortable, well equipped and strikingly decorated - feels like a much-loved home not a rental unit. Plus right in the centre of Canterbury and with charming and helpful hosts.

"Very beautiful place to stay in a perfect location for enjoying Canterbury"

10.0

The house was beautiful, cosy and full of character. Well equipped and very central for our needs and for a family wedding near by. Beds very comfortable and kitchen had everything you would need. Could have done with a small nest of tables to share for our wine glasses when watching tv but hardly a problem.

Nothing

"Enjoyable stay in an excellent home."

10.0

Everything was top notch. The beds were comfortable. It was very spacious, clean, with all kitchen equipment, etc. provided. The proximity of the house to the city centre is a huge bonus. I can thoroughly recommend it, and would stay there again.

Nothing.

Central location with parking Very clean Comfortable bed Well equipped

Noise from traffic during daytime and delivery vans early hours of the morning Noise from pedestrians due to lack of soundproofing Very disappointed that we were not advised of building works directly opposite which were very noisy from early AM

"Stunning property, but lots of noise."

8.0

The house is exquisite and beautifully decorated. The beds are very comfortable and there were wonderful touches everywhere. The kitchen is absolutely gorgeous and so is the bathroom. The house is a little hard to find (or maybe it was the dark and rain) but once you realise the parking is behind a gate, it's all pretty easy. The location is very close to the centre - just a short walk to the cathedral and shops.

The house is next to a pub and the street is used by people walking home after drinking. On both of the nights we stayed, there was a lot of noise. On Friday night we were kept awake until 1am and then lorries were beeping and reversing at 6am. On Saturday night it was 3am. Not great for sleeping sadly and for that reason we wouldn't come back, beautiful as it was. The owners can't really do anything about this and if you're in Canterbury planning to be out late yourself, it's probably not a problem.
