River Cottage - Stunning estuary views

Beautiful, quiet location overlooking a wide bend in the Alde estuary towards Iken church. Boats and waterside walks a few steps down from the cottage. Approx 20 minute delightful walk along the river to all the shops, galleries and restaurants of Snape Maltings, plus the world famous concert hall of course. The cottage is superbly designed and equipped, we wished we could have stayed longer. Host Kate is welcoming and friendly.

A bit tricky to find as Satnav only gets you so far, despite detailed directions. Approach lane is hard to spot and quite uneven so needs care negotiating.

Overall a very pleasant property

For some reason the Booking.com website refers to a lockbox that doesn't exist. Key was in a hidden place instead. A couple of things that would be helpful; SatNav takes you to the end of a dirt road with a footpath sign. I had to call the owner to see if I was supposed to drive down that, which was indeed the case. Also the dirt road badly needs some re-grading. It's a tight turn into the property. If the neighboring farmer would agree to it, making the turn in a little wider would be useful. All miner issues that do not detract from the quality of the experience.

Stunning location, beautifully designed and furnished cottage interior. Very comfortable and well equipped. Great local walks and excellent base for exploring many Suffolk attractions.
