Das Hotel ist schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen, eine Renovierung wäre angesagt.

Wasserkocher für Kaffee und Tee vorhanden, sauberes Zimmer, gute Busanbindung nach Dublin

Zimmer veraltet, Matratze zu weich, Badezimmertür ließ sich nicht schließen, Blick auf die Abzugsanlage inkl. Mauer, keine Dusche, nur Badewanne mit Duschmöglichkeit, Dichtung teilweise schwarz, wir würden nicht mehr dort buchen.

It's a very nice setting, in an old building of several restaurants in a bar. I enjoy the overall environment and the staff will very friendly. The bedroom is quite nice, it has all the amenities that you need, iron, kettle, ensuite and a comfortable bed. The carvery for lunch is quite good and I have a beef stew which was amazing. This is available every day around lunch time. Some people came just for the restaurant and so must be quite popular lately.

I feel misled as the name of this place is Lucan Spa, but there are no Spa facilities at all and no pool. Having booked on booking.com, most of us will assume that the word Spa or have facilities accordingly. I have since researched this on their own website and found that they chose the name as there was a water spa hundreds of years ago. I don't think naming a hotel Spa is reasonable, and I suspect they chose that name because it would mislead people. I think that they could easily add spa facilities, as there's plenty of space in the building and surrounding area. There's also companies nearby that offer a range of spa treatments that they can work with to bring smart treatments to the hotel. Adding a pool would be amazing and I'm sure would help them bring it up customers. At this price I expected air conditioning, but the only thing provided was a small desk fan which could not contend with the heat that we are currently facing. So getting to sleep was quite difficult. If the word Spa was not in their name, I think the expectations would have been more in line with what they provide. However, I feel let down and that I overpaid because I thought they were facilities that do not exist here. In fact, I wouldn't have booked this hotel if the word Spa was not included in their name, as there are other hotels that have the facilities of expecting. The breakfast, is a standard Irish breakfast, with all the food sitting under heat lamps and drying out sadly. It's a nice mix of food, but it would have been better if it was freshly made. The black and white puddings were very dry and hard, not edible at all. The potatoes were roughly cut and different sizes, so some were nice and soft and some were a bit hard. Uniform cutting, or replacing them with hatch browns would have been a better option. Being a non-drinker, I ordered a coat, which came in a tiny glass at 4 Euros.
