giant cockroach in the room and they didn't give us our money back because we didn't sleep there because of the cockroach

Pretty standard roadside hotel with some nice features. Beds are great and furnishings are modern but spartan. Floors are bare sealed concrete, which is clean and OK but a bit unusual. There's a restaurant, bar, and morning/afternoon cafe, and desk staff are helpful. Wifi works fine and parking is free. Easy walk to Corktown, and very central for other parts of Detroit. I'd stay again.

The rooms were clean. The location was convenient for us. The restaurant breakfast was good. Staff was friendly. Onsite parking was convenient.

The room doors are too close to each other. You can hear the neighbors through the doors. I think they did a remodel and the doors are not sealed at the bottom and the noise from hallway/next door can be very loud. The 1/2 glass shower wall on the bathtub was weird and water sprays out onto the floor. If you put a mat down the door will not open over it. It was just a little strange.
