Queen's Head Askham

It was all excellent and very much above my initial expectations. Friendly welcoming staff, lovely bedroom & en suite; good food and ideal quiet spot for us to stop off at, away from the motorway, on our way north

Great beers and food! The pizzas were excellent and staff really friendly. We were made to feel very welcome and had a great stay. The Nduja pizza and lamb pizza were amazing! The breakfast was delicious and with only 6 rooms it felt very personalised. Manager spoke with us and shared information about the close by Askham Hall and made us feel very welcome.

An old building so can't be helped but we had a ground floor room and it was very loud due to footsteps in the room above from 7.30...maybe ask for a first floor room!

Very welcome stop on the hottest day of the year, staff greeted us in a positive manner, very beautiful location in a very attractive village. Nothing was too much trouble, very good food all prepared from local sourced producers. Breakfast was wonderful

Little problem in controlling the very hot water flow in our shower. Could be dangerous .

Lovely little pub in a beautiful village 10 minutes from the M6 and great access to the Northern Lakes. Food and beer were excellent and the staff and locals very friendly. They allowed me to check in early at 1pm as I was on a trip to scatter my late sister’s ashes next to my parents at Lake Watendlath.

The bathroom and shower were quite bijou and compact but beautifully appointed. Our bathroom would not have been the best for anyone with mobility issues. But we were very happy with it.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was lovely - very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was also tasty and enjoyable.

Limited breakfast menu. Also only Pizza in the evening- but pleasant
