"Needs some additional touches for comfortable sleep and stay"

6.0

This home was well decorated and nicely cleaned, bit a bit uncomfortable as accommodation in some respects. The pillows and bedding were very comfortable. The shower is roomy and lovely.. Our host graciously provided us with a laundry rack for clothes that cannot withstand the heat of the dryer.. The stove and refrigerator are very nice appliances, and the wifi works well. There is a very nice TV in the living room which was a comfortable space to use.

There were 10 air fresheners in the house, which we learned after removing them temporarily are necessary to mitigate the sewer smells that accumulate intermittently in the home. The ample street light at night lights up the bedroom at night and the lightweight blinds did little to moderate this. With two people in the bed, it was easy for me to roll into the middle. Plugging things into the wall was a challenge. It was a bit of a scavenger hunt to find the electrical outlets that hold a plug vs letting them sag and fall out of the wall. Shampoo/conditioner/soap was graciously provided in the shower, and there was enough soap for two people for a one night stay. Alas, we were staying three nights. The water pressure is low. If you have thick hair, plan for a lot of extra time in the shower to rinse. The washing machine water connections (hot/cold) are reversed. I quickly learned that for clothes that are sensitive to heat, one has to use the Hot setting on the washer to get the cold water to go in the machine. The clothes will only be rinsed with boiling hot water, though, as this washing machine, like all washing machines, has a factory setting to use only “cold” water to rinse, which in this case is very hot water, due to the reversed pipes. In the kitchen, the sink faucet is not attached to the counter at all and moves around when turned on/off, creating the potential for a burst pipe, so it is stressful to use.
