"Best night's sleep for a long time!"

10.0

Beautiful historic farmhouse, lovingly restored by current owner. Incredible 500 year old ceiling in our room. Extremely comfortable bed, gorgeous Egyptian cotton bedding scented with lavender, light and warm feather duvet. Charming, friendly owner - amazing attention to detail and nothing too much trouble. Wonderful breakfast and great care taken for my veggie option which included a homemade potato cake and the offer of mushrooms cooked without butter. We had no need for lunch!

Unfortunate location next to busy road, so some road noise, Isolated group of buildings not in a village, so car needed really, though you can walk to the pub in the nearby village. Access tricky. Currently a bit of a building site outside as work is done to other properties, but no doubt this will improve. We were not disturbed by any construction noise

Gorgeous, quirky 12th century farmhouse that was much a piece of history as it was a place to stay.

The driveway and outside of the property is a building site. Lots of building debris. .

"A stop over on our way to Cornwall."

9.0

Very quirky 600+ year old house. The owner was a lovely lady. Room had absolutely everything you needed and the breakfast was plentiful and varied. Would definitely recommend.

The front of the house and the driveway is not good, but this is partly due to a neighbour putting in underground cables before it is resurfaced.

"Great stay with a charming hostess and in a dog friendly property full of character."

9.0

Wonderful welcome. A very old house located quite close to the A38, with internal updates in sympathy with the original character. Beautiful room - very comfortable bed. Julie was a great host - nothing too much trouble. Breakfast at a time to suit us and plentiful. Would definitely visit again and hopefully meet the dogs next time! Close enough to walk into the local village for a meal across the fields, but rural enough to give the dog some local exercise near the river.

With the hot weather we had and resulting open windows, the drone of traffic on the nearby dual carriageway can be heard. Not enough to ruin the stay or sleep, just to take the edge off the rural character & birdy tweets.
