"Superb"

9.0

The environment is very tranquil, and the space is comfortable and spacious, making it an ideal vacation spot for families with young children to enjoy peaceful and fun family time. The overall atmosphere, especially at night, is rustic, romantic, and leisurely, making it a very memorable and highly recommended place. Sitting in the yard with a few friends or family in the afternoon or evening, watching the stars, eating, drinking, chatting, and playing cards is very relaxing. We had a wonderful time here. The bubble toys prepared by the host in advance were a big hit with the kids. Additionally, ice water was pre-stocked in the refrigerator, which was perfect for the hot summer days, showing the host's thoughtful care. The interior of the hanok was clean and tidy, with basic toiletries and plenty of pillows and blankets provided. A There are two convenience stores within a three-minute walk nearby, and the staff there are very friendly. The streets near the hanok guesthouse are not busy, and the safety level is quite high. We all felt that this place is very child-friendly and safe for young children. The family-style restaurants near the hanok are also very friendly and willing to help travelers who don't speak the Korean. Minor downside was that the washing machine was broken when we visited. Another issue was the abundance of mosquitoes in the yard, so summer visitors should be prepared with mosquito repellent products. This hanok guesthouse is located in a lane where regular cars cannot enter. If you have large or multiple pieces of luggage, or even a stroller, please be prepared to walk a short distance.

"Cute home, but not for family travel."

6.0

Very charming modernized remodel of a traditional Hanok in a fun neighborhood in Seoul. The place was definitely more "instagram friendly", but not for comfort.

We had an issue with the floor heaters during a hot summer stay. We followed the website manuals they had for turning on the air, but somehow managed to mess with the "water heater" and "floor heat", and turned the heat up too high in one of the bedrooms no one was able to sleep in it. And then we managed to turn off the water heater entirely. The photos of the devices they had in their manuals were not updated to the devices on the wall, and impossible to follow. The host remotely fixed the problem the next day, but we were only staying for 3 nights, and 1 was completely ruined. They do not provide basic amenities - No coffee, no tea. It's almost like an apartment, but just meant for folks traveling without kids or elders. We had 3 generations staying (grandparents, us, and the 2 kids under 7), and we would not recommend this for this grouping.
