Borgo House, Bologna by Short Holidays

Fantastic location - 10 minutes walk to the centre of Bologna, 10 minutes to train station. Lovely big apartment, two bathrooms / showers, nice little kitchen, big rooms. Well equipped and comfortable for a family of 5, with two kids (aged 12 & 14) on sofa bed. Very convenient shops next to the apartment. Nice and quiet apartment block.

Air con in two rooms was not that great - it just about did a job, but only one room was properly cool. If you used the kettle or washing machine at the same time as the air con, the electrics tripped. Getting in was a little complicated as the code to the key lock box did not work, but the owner was on hand within 5 minutes to sort it out.

Good location. Quiet. Bigger than expected. Air conditioned. Good and powerful shower!

Instructions for check in stated that you need to ring a number for the gate to be unlocked and then use a lockbox, but this was not necessary. Just use the lock box. No need to call a number. Instructions could be clearer for English people, but then again we did not know Italian well enough. Regardless, this was the only issue we had.

The apartment looks a bit underwhelming compared to pictures. There was some cleanliness issues (dirty balcony, stinky dishwasher) but bathrooms and bedrooms were clean so overall ok.

The host did not respond to our messages all day and when we arrived at the property there was no one there, we did not receive any instructions on self-check in and they didn't answer the phone so we had no choice but to literally spend the night on the streets of Bologna... soo no, we did not enjoy our stay :)

lack of kitchen appliances such as coffee machine and pans, no extra blankets and pillows, insufficient toilet paper for the price per night I expected these items to be available
