"Amazing place to stay"

What a beautiful private island. We enjoyed our stay here. Rooms are basic but you dont need more luxury on a island like this. The food was amazing!

We only saw 1 dugong 😉

"Staying in paradise"

10.0

We upgraded for a little bit more to the best rooms category after we arrived. The standard rooms were very rustic and the middle category are not available on booking, but you can upgrade to these as well. They take care of their beach every day ( plastic and debris removal); the staff and owner are super nice and speak good English. The food is great with the obligatory fish and rice for lunch and dinner, but the add different vegetables and salad with it every meal. The reef, which ist still healthy to 75% and is just off the beach is fantastic and you can snorkeling around the e island in 1-1/2 hours. We paid 500,000 rupee for the pick up in Kandiri, which seems to be the going rate, but you can also take the public boat from Ampana, which stops at the village near Bolilinga, which you can see from the island. Our stay was super relaxing with nice beach chairs and hammock at our front porch. The evening action was always watching the sunset sitting in the little hut at the end of the pier, supported by an ice cold Bintang beer. Life couldn’t be better.

All was great.

Beautiful place to snorkel and relax. Really nive staff. The owner is a local. They even helped us to go diving with another diving resort for a day.

Not an issue, but some beach chairs to lay on the beach would have been nice

"Amazing experience"

10.0

Amazing experience. Beautiful island, beautiful beach, beautiful snorkelling just in front of the bungalows. The food is also super good. Thanks a lot to the staff for this experience. The fact that there are no other hotel on the island is also nice and makes you feel like you're on a private island.

Spent a fantastic 2 nights here. Food was excellent and served family-style to the guests, which created a great vibe among the group. Shore diving was great, and we managed to see seahorses, eagle rays and bumpheads. The short jungle trail allows for awesome views of roosting flying foxes, and the staff are happy to show you coconut crabs if you ask ahead. Also it’s a great location between Wakai and Malenge/the main diving reefs. Overall, great location - highly recommend if you’re looking to stay in this area of the archipelago.

We had the cheaper option (Deluxe cabin) which was comfortable but quite basic and there is a bucket shower which was a bit tricky to use because the tap is stiff!

"Togean paradise"

9.0

The Togean Islands offered the perfect escape from daily stress and hustle, and choosing Bolilanga as our destination was an excellent decision. This resort, the only one on the small island, provided a truly serene and exclusive experience. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff and guided to our cozy bungalow. Each morning, we were greeted by breathtaking views that set the tone for a relaxing day. Just a few steps and a short swim from the shore brought us to a vibrant coral reef, perfect for incredible snorkeling, where we experienced a pristine underwater safari. Afterward, we could unwind by simply lying down and soaking in the tranquility of this paradise. We were even accompanied by a small dog, Sambo, who made for a delightful companion during our stay. The meals prepared by the staff were consistently delicious, though it’s worth noting that there was no menu or variety in the food options, a point I’ll elaborate on further in the negative section.

Negative Points: 1. Limited Trip Opportunities: The resort’s reliance on external boats for excursions often meant limited availability, leaving guests effectively confined to the island when boats couldn’t come. 2. Lack of Meal Options: There was no choice of dishes during meals, not even between two options. For instance, I do not eat fish, and my pregnant wife cannot consume it daily, yet no alternatives were provided. 3. Misleading “All-Inclusive” Description: The term “all-inclusive” is misleading—it’s more accurately a full-board setup. There were no beverage options beyond water, tea, and coffee, and the availability of fruit was surprisingly sparse for such a tropical destination. 4. Limited Electricity: Electricity was only available for five hours a day, so spare batteries are essential. While we personally didn’t mind due to the escape from modern distractions, it’s worth noting that there’s also no Wi-Fi available. 5. No Sunbeds: The resort lacked sunbeds, which could have added to the relaxation experience.

"All in all a wonderful place to be."

10.0

Great location, feels like paradise through and through. Amazing coral reefs everywhere, and just such a remote and relaxing place. Bring a book and forget about the world for a few days. We loved the staff and the island puppy named Sambo.

Bring your own snorkeling gear, if you can. A lot of the rental material is half broken and if you’re not in luck you might be held responsible for damages that were there before you used the gear.
