Apartment Julia - Menaggio

Great location and wonderful view from the patio.

Sports bar below the property was very loud until around 2am.

We liked the location of the apartment, as it is very close to the ferry station and just a quick walk into town. No car or taxi was needed in Menaggio. We loved the proximity to the water with a lovely view from the balcony. You can see Varenna and Bellagio in the distance, right from the balcony, and enjoy gorgeous lake & mountain views.The air conditioning worked well in the bedrooms & sleeping was comfortable temperature-wise. The beds had firm mattresses & were comfortable as well. It’s easy & convenient in Menaggio to rent a boat and see Bellagio & Varenna from the water, in addition to taking the ferry over to explore the other towns. We loved the proximity to the many charming cafes that served cappuccino, fresh croissants & fresh squeezed orange juice for breakfast. You can sit & enjoy a lovely view of the water while you have coffee. And it’s only a 7 minute walk from the apartment! Also, there’s a convenient market right in the same building as the apartment, to purchase necessities. (Just be sure to note the hours. They are closed all day Sunday and Monday afternoon. And, for 3 hours midday for lunch). Irina was great about answering questions about the apartment & how things work. The apartment was very clean with plenty of space. We would like to stay there again if we return to Menaggio.

The only tough part was handling luggage, as there is no elevator. The apartment is on the second floor, but it’s more like 2 1/2 flights of stairs. We were in Europe for nearly 3 weeks and had larger suitcases to haul up the stairs. It would have been great to have someone available to hire for help with the luggage. Otherwise, our stay was wonderful and we would love to return!

Amazing location, beautiful flat with everything you need there. The views from all windows are stunning. Host is very helpful and communication was very good.

The noise coming from the so-called “pub” downstairs was unbearable. This wasn’t your usual background buzz of people having drinks and chatting — this was full-on chaos. People were screaming, arguing, and fighting like like madmen well into the early morning. Let me be clear: this place isn’t a regular pub. It’s more like a junkie hangout — loud, aggressive, and completely out of control. The type of crowd it attracts makes it impossible to get some sleep. It was disturbing, and honestly, disgusting. This is a serious issue, and something needs to be done about it as the current situation is not sustainable or tolerable.

Stunning views, very spacious apartment, perfect location for exploring the lake and surrounding area. Very clean with everything needed. Lots of outside seating options to see the lake. Wonderful air conditioning. Perfect.

Absolutely perfect - nothing to dislike.

Loved the location, the stunning balcony view, the proximity of the supermarket and short walk to the main square. It was very clean and well equipped. The bedrooms were gorgeous, with very comfortable beds.

The noise coming from the Tana Bar next door. This would start about 11pm and finish about 5am, every night. Luckily my earplugs dulled the noise of the terrible karaoke and cars honking while pulling handbrake turns. As for the apartment, the only thing that we couldn't get to work was the TV, as there were no instructions. And opening times of the supermarket would've been helpful.
