Only spent 1 night here Great location for what we needed arrived late as was our first night in Sri Lanka room was clean was in room 7 room had 2x large beds and air-con, room had no tv, no soap in bathroom and no towels and the smallest amount of toilet roll 8 sheets did message owner as not on site asking about towels but had no response wouldn’t of minded about towels and a bit of soap but our cases didn’t arrive so we had nothing so couldn’t shower, but was good for the price to put head down for the night booked the safari with them which was fare priced just a shame room didn’t have what was advertised

No towels no toilet paper 😟 No tv although didn’t mind as wasn’t there to watch tv

Location

booked for 2 nights. on the first day I refused the safari, because the price was higher than other offers and an attempt to deceive the exchange rate. after the first night, the owner said that he refused to accept us for the second night because we refused the safari. he also turned off the water in the room. this is unacceptable, we had to urgently look for new housing. I do not recommend

NOTHING (Only the local people living around)

With a cheap room like this we knew the owner would expect us to book a safari with him. We were ok with this because it sounds fairplay BUT the owner was harrassing us on whatsapp before our arrival to make sure we would book the safari tour. We said we wanted to discuss the price and all when we get in. So when we arrive (the location doesnt exist on Google Maps) , he offered us a coconut (part of his business plan) and pretended our room was not ready yet. He asked us straight away to book and then to pay the safari. Once we accepted he said our room was ready. (I guess we would have to leave if we didnt book the safari)… The room was not clean , there where no towels, no soap, nothing. As soon as we paid, he disappeared and the guesthouse was empty all the time (only guests but no one From there to help or anything). During the safari, our baby got a high fever and started to feel very bad, he was almost fainting so we asked the driver to stop the safari and go back to the hôtel to give him medicine or see a doctor. The driver called his boss who told us it was not possible to stop the safari. We insist and they found a way to bring us back after 40 min. During this time he threatened us by message that we would have extra fees to pay if we leave the safari. Once at the room, one Guy told us our breakfast was ready , it was a bit of bread and a bottle of water (no coffee , tea or fruits) and no one anymore to serve you or talk to you. We booked for 2 nights but after this we paid and just left the room the first day. We never saw anyone anymore. These people just want your money and they dont care about your health. By the way the safari in Udawalaye is awful , there is 10 to 15 jeeps around éléphants and they even block them with the cars so tourist can take pictures 🤢anyway , i travelled all around the world and its the first time I see someone so attached to money and not caring at all for people life …

The room for the price is mind blowing. It's way too cheap. It's a beautiful, clean and comfortable room. The breakfast was quite tasty.

The room is so cheap because they hard sell you on the Safari. If you are alone or just two people, I would suggest get a tuk tuk to the National park gate and buy your own tickets and hire your own safari jeep. You could join a jeep with less people and save a lot of money.

Unfrendly people

Really spacious, clean and comfortable room. The owner was very welcoming and we did a safari theough him as well which was awesome!

For 3€/night the value for money is extremely good! The place offers a cute outdoor garden and a kitchen where you can chill, make a tea etc. The room was very big, but the bathroom could be a little better in terms of facilities, but still was alright for the price! The price also includes Sri Lankan breakfast so if you think about it, the value is exceptional :))

Ravindu and his family were really friendly and welcoming, and all the arrangements and food were top notch! This resort is located in Udawalawe, so going on a safari was very easy. You can get personalized tours and the quality/price ratio is very good. My husband had his birthday while we were staying there, and the family organized a birthday cake and gift for him. This was really nice and made us very happy. :)
