Kallowen Cottage at Crackington Haven, near Bude and Boscastle, Cornwall

This would be a lovely stay for the whole family and their pet as it’s got space for 4 and plenty living and kitchen space… but the best bit is the greenery, surrounded by nature walks and peace.

Good instructions provided but I would say donate near the entrance as to location of each cottage would be helpful specially if your arriving in the dark, but this is only a minor detail.

The cabin is lovely and set in beautiful grounds; the sound of the stream rushing and the trees rustling is very calming. Everything you could need is provided. It's great value for money. We only stayed for one night but could quite comfortably have stayed longer.

We treat ourselves once in a while to a place with a bath (we live on a boat) and were looking forward to a nice hot bubble bath, but there weren't any instructions guiding you to turn on the immersion heater beforehand. This was a tad frustrating when we first ran a cold bath, although we worked it out and had to wait 40 minutes for it to heat up, and then again for a further bath.

De verwarming is een collector. Het geeft wel wat warmte af, maar niet heel veel. Met een extra pull was het wel snel opgelost.

There was nothing I disliked the only minor problem I had was that I couldn't make the electric shower work. Thankfully there was a bath so easily overcome.

Bei der Ankunft war das Gaus kalt und die Bettwäsche fühlte sich feucht an, was für ein 1 1/2 Jahre altes Kind nicht gut ist. Wir haben die Bettwäsche so gut es ging beim Heizkörper getrocknet.

Lovely location

What a wonderful gem of a place surrounded by forests and streams. Several cottages align, yet you have your own picturesque privacy. Fully equipped with everything you will need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The grounds surrounding the cottage are well maintained. The bed was so comfortable and the whole place was so clean with adequate heating if needed. There is quite a steep hill down to the cottages, but it wasn't anywhere near as steep as we remembered on the way back up so don't worry about this too much. We only wish we could have stayed longer to explore. We hope to be back.

I really cannot fault the place or the hosts. I just wished that we could have checked out at 11 being a Sunday rather than 10am but that's a minor in the grand scheme of things.
