Stay Portland - Amazing Giant Studio in Brooklyn

It was clean, and the check in/out instructions were good.

The advertisement on Booking showed that the room was around $103/night after a discount and said pets were allowed. Based on this price and the pet friendly box checked I selected this listing. It was clearly stated it was a not refundable price. I booked the room, then it showed an added charge of around $23 for taxes (perfectly acceptable) and a cleaning fee of around $50 (not happy it wasn’t stated in the listing upfront or prior to this moment but decided to go ahead and pay these additional fees bringing the total charges to around $176/night for the room. Once paid it took me to a different website, a property management one, that stated there was an additional $99 non refundable pet fee for the extra cleanup required for pets. That’s makes the cleaning fee $150 for one night and the room total became $275/night. If I knew this up front I would not have chose this listing and went with a more affordable option. Also, listed in the policies at the property management website it states that a refundable deposit of $500 can be placed on my credit card but wasn’t clear if that would happen or not. But worth mentioning since it showed it was a possibility. This is in addition to the $176 room charges, and $99 pet charges. Locating the property was easy. Finding parking was not as convenient as one would like especially after paying these prices. You have to hunt for street parking and hope to find something nearby in front of someone’s house. It is a busy neighborhood and parking was very limited. Once inside it was clean enough with decent amenities (no decaf coffee or tea but that’s ok). Unable to take a bath due to the water running out with the tiny water heater. Showers only. For the price I paid I could have gotten a much better room for the night which left me feeling taken advantage of and duped. I didn’t have a bad experience other than the bait and switch I felt was happening.

The property is as described and matches photos. I really appreciated the kitchen being stocked with spices and pots/pans. The location is a decent launch point for exploring Portland, but by no means a good location for walking around and having a neighborhood feel. Bus stops are right outside.

The wifi is extremely weak in the apartment and really only connects consistently in the living room. I had rented to have a place to work and relax during my trip and it wasn't strong enough to join video calls. Little to no wifi in the bathroom and the hot water runs out long before bath can fill, so not a place you can easily relax in the clawfoot tub.

Very nice and mostly quiet. Modern and very clean. It had everything you need to be able to cook and be comfortable. Very nice air conditioning and large screen TV. Convenience store located across the street which was nice for last minute needs.

We are a couple in our late 60’s so the claw foot tub was difficult to get in and out of. Also some hand rails by the tub would be great! But we would just ask for a different room in the future! We definitely let that be a deal breaker. It was a very nice experience and we would come back again!❤️

Spacious apartment, comfortable bed, nice bathroom, decent location.

The apartment was nice but the building itself was quite noisy (very thin walls) and the hallways smelled strongly of cigarette smoke.
