Nothing. The experience felt unsafe and uncomfortable from the moment I arrived. I arrived within the checkin time (before midnight) as my flight landed late but I quickly took a taxi to get there at 23:40, he was already texting me as soon as I landed that check in was only until midnight. The host was present on arrival but was rude from the beginning and immediately demanded cash payment without offering a receipt in order to keep the same price advertised in booking otherwise if I pay by card I had to pay an increased price this is NOT common practise anywhere in the island.

Almost everything. I booked a room with 4 beds for myself and I was given a room with two beds as he gave the other room to another person. The room was cold, unheated, and missing basic bedding — I had to sleep fully dressed. Hygiene was poor, the listing was misleading, and the host’s behaviour was aggressive, dishonest, and threatening. Entering your room without notice and staring at you while changing clothes. In the morning, after I had found a blanket in the common area (left behind by another guest who was leaving early for the airport), the host entered my room without permission, shouted, pulled the blankets off me while I was in bed still sleeping, blocked my way, and even denied me access to the bathroom. He then tried to charge an unreasonable fee and made insulting, discriminatory remarks. Andre is the person who mistreated me like this he should be banned from hosting any other people, this was not acceptable and has been reported. When I called booking he blocked the door, and stayed next to me to listen everything I was saying. Worst experience in my life! He said all was not true to keep the money and his hosting business so it is my word against his. My advice is to avoid this place if you do not want to risk this person to ruin your holidays there are many other options to go. In Madeira people are very nice but this person is an exception. I attach the only bedding provided. One thin red blanket, the other one on the picture was the one from the customer who left to the airport earlier. There is no heating in the room and the bathroom I was not allowed to use it.

Too small. Not even a place to sit and relax. It's a bed and shower for the night.

Funchal rooms are pretty close to the tourist center and have a good view. The place is modern and feels cozy.

Some place to sit inside would be good.
