Tranquil getaway near Brecon Beacons

Wow. Even having read the reviews, I still found this place PALATIAL!. In fact, I felt I was rattling round it like an extra out of 'The Shining'😂😂 Big, high ceiling rooms, a sense of history with the faded grandeur, but very comfortable. A fabulous, modern, well equipped kitchen. Shower a tad measly, but adequate. And a great fireplace!! just perfect for settling back after long walks. Great communication from host. I rarely give 10/10, but this place deserved it.

I liked it all and would definitely book again if/when in the vicinity.

The accommodation was very comfortable and warm. Lovely isolated location. Very clean.

Lovely peaceful location, great views into the valley, nicely near the local town. Friendly owner who offered great comms. I will go back there again.

Zeer ruim landhuis, met karakteristiek AGA fornuis in een zeer ruime keuken. Vanuit de slaapkamers mooi uitzicht. Voor het huis staan bankjes waar je lekker buiten kunt zitten. Er is een rivier op het landgoed waar je kunt vissen. We hebben otters in de rivier gezien. En ‘s nachts hoorden we een bosuil.

It was spectacular inside, so beautifully furnished . Well equipped and comfortable in glorious countryside with a wild and interesting garden.

The bathroom, while serviceable, could do with an upgrade.

So incredibly spacious! A lot of rooms and space for the money.. Amazing views from every window. A dated but unique apartment with some nice original features and furniture...yet all you will need modern comforts. Bedding and towels smelt great. Good communication with Host.

Despite such a beautiful location, I would have loved a proper outside space to sit out in . Narrow terrace which is being renovated, so should look great when done. When arrived, we didn't get the wow factor until we stepped inside.

I recently stayed at this Tranquil gateway near Brecon Beacons National Park, and it was everything I had hoped for—and more. From the moment I arrived, I felt a deep sense of calm. The space is thoughtfully decorated, clean, and cosy, with all the amenities you’d need for a comfortable stay. Whether enjoying a slow morning with coffee by the window or curling up after a long day of walking, it felt like a true home away from home. The proximity to Brecon Beacons is a huge bonus—beautiful hikes, waterfalls, and scenic drives are just minutes away. Yet after a day of exploring, coming back to the stillness of this place made the experience even more special. Perfect for friends trip, couples, or anyone needing to recharge in nature. I left feeling rested, grateful, and already thinking about when I can return.

There was nothing that I did not like.
