The location was fantastic in the centre of Birgu and in easy walking distance of restaurants etc.

The ground floor was dark and gloomy with no window.

Birgu could easily be one of the best locations to stay in. This rental is in a very cozy area of it and has great spots which overlook the city very close to it. Also restaurants are very near. The apartment itself is very clean and has everything you need. Never encountered hosts that are this quick to respond. All our messages were replied to in about a minute. Very friendly and understandable communication.

Some amenities are broken, like soap dispensers. The window in the bedroom does not isolate it at all. The sounds aren’t that bothering, but the cold definitely is. There are two A/C units in the bottom and top floor however, with the cold that was coming into the bedroom through the window even in april, the upper A/C did not manage to heat the room properly and had to be turned up to maximum loudness to give off any heat. I can’t imagine how this is in december or january if we had trouble with cold in april. This is however not that big of inconvenience. There is a smell of humid limestone throughout the whole house and its strong, but it is obvious if you are signing up for a reantal like this, so just a heads up.

Posizione ottima vicino a un parcheggio libero nel caso abbiate un'auto a noleggio. La zona circostante é molto bella e caratteristica, così come l'abitazione stessa. Il traghetto per Valletta é vicino e comodo oltre che abbastanza economico (2.50€ a persona per tratta), in pochi minuti arriverete in città senza dover usare l'auto. Il bagno é dotato di bidé. Il Wifi funziona bene. Il letto era comodo. Avrete a disposizione una piccola cucina al piano inferiore se volete cenare in casa. Potete comunicare tramite Whatsapp con il personale che é molto disponibile.

La casa resta un po' umida (ma questo é il problema generale di queste abitazioni storiche) e gli asciugamani faticano a seccarsi anche accendendo lo scalda asciugamani. L'odore di umidità é percettibile (a me non dà particolarmente fastidio ma se siete sensibili tenetelo presente). Sarebbe utile una tenda per la doccia che altrimenti l'acqua schizza lontano. Al mattino presto potreste essere svegliati dallo strombazzare dei mezzi che fanno le consegne (pare sia un'usanza Maltese) o in generale dal rumore delle auto nella stradina (se piove fanno fatica a salire perché le gomme scivolano sul lastricato antico e la strada é in pendenza). Nota: c'é letteralmente un interruttore per ogni apparecchio, se qualcosa sembra non funzionare cercate sui muri il relativo interruttore (ci sono delle etichette), per esempio lo scalda asciugamani ha un interruttore dedicato, così come il riscaldamento da soffitto nel bagno. Non sono in posizione intuitive quindi fate un po' di ricerca...
