Casa Ortelia: apartment in a historic building

This ground floor apartment was ideally situated near the city centre with plenty of restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. Although Bologna can be hectic and noisy late into the night with its large student population the apartment was tucked away at the back of the main street next to a small courtyard. Even with a window open in our bedroom it was peacefully quiet throughout the night and we were not disturbed by the nightlife. It was a peaceful haven after a busy day. We loved the decor and the natural finishes in the apartment especially the ceiling in the living room. In general the apartment was simply but nicely furnished and very clean, also it was super secure so there was no concern over leaving valuables in the apartment while we were out.

We would have appreciated having a kettle in the kitchen as we had to boil water in a saucepan to make tea, not a big issue but would have been nice. Be aware that this is an historic building and the access corridor is long and dark and there is not too much daylight inside the apartment due to its inner courtyard location.

I liked the space, almost everything needed was available, it was clean.

Although the apt is on the ground floor inside the complex, it feels like being in a basement. Very little natural light comes in, and the small amount of windows has to remain closed and covered with a curtain because it has absolutely no privacy. The apartment is located at the entrance of the building, where all the residents of the building has to pass to get in and out. The location is very close to Piazza Aldrovandi, which is not a safe place for women walking alone during evening/night hours.

The location was very good. 10 mins walk to the two towers and 20 mins to Piazza Maggiore. Easy to explore the historic centre from the apartment. It was quiet, comfortable, very well presented and clean. Great WiFi connection. The owner was very responsive to any questions for information.

Lack of natural light in the apartment. No kettle!

The location was perfect, a very short walk to the main Piazza, plus you didn’t feel you were with all the tourist. Great selection of local eateries with very reasonable prices

Good communication, excellent ubication, cleanliness, facilities for the checking out.

Nice apartment very close to the centre of the city. Clean,quiet(we could sleep without problem), comfortable mattress and pillows and all the comforts at the kitchen if someone wants to cook. Very polite host. I am very satisfied with my stay.

We loved the location. The apartment was very nicely done. Communication with Enrico was very good. Very helpful.

The kitchen could use a kettle and a toaster. Minor issues.
