Important Warning for Booking.com Users: I was recently cheated by a hotel I booked through Booking.com. After confirming the reservation, the hotel contacted me via the Booking.com messaging system, asking for an advance payment to a personal UPI ID. They pressured me by saying the booking would be cancelled due to high demand if I didn’t pay immediately. I made the payment, but when I arrived, they claimed no payment was received. Since the payment was made to a personal UPI ID, Booking.com has no official record of it, and I was left without support. Please be cautious: Never transfer money to a personal UPI or outside of Booking.com’s official payment system. If a hotel pressures you to make an off-platform payment, report it immediately. Stay alert and safe while booking! Let me know if you'd like help reporting this incident to Booking.com or writing a formal complaint.
