Doon Niwas Homestay 2-Bedrooms, Mountain view, near Picnic Spots

Great location and well maintained property. All the rooms were spacious and washrooms were also clean. We had a good time. Felt like being at home.

There was not any air conditioner and it was a bit hot during the day. Another issue was the mosquitoes. If you can stay without AC then go for it as the property is extremely good and clean.

The place is kept clean and in good shape generally. It is on a second floor of a villa, in a safe neighbourhood. There are nets on all doors and windows to keep mosquitoes away. The owner was helpful with giving tips on how to get things easily.

Late nights I could hear dogs barking in the neighbourhood. In early morning there was noise from construction work around, and some days they were drumming loud to start the day! By 9 AM there's maid who is coming for cleaning the place. So if you are a person who wants to wake up late, not suitable for you. There was a problem with our shower, where we could not switch to douche because of low water pressure. We switched to the bathroom in the roof for that. Note that there is 200 Rupees charge for using the kitchen for every day, therefore, the kitchen is not included on the booking price.

Unfortunately, my experience at this homestay was disappointing. The place was not as described in the listing — it was not clean, amenities were lacking, and the overall environment felt uncomfortable. Communication with the host was difficult, and I didn’t feel welcome. I wouldn’t recommend this place to others.

1) The property owner is very helpful, 2) One suggestion of adding mirror in hall/ bedroom is already in action.
