"Very nice location and house but some improvements needed"

6.0

Location is perfect close to the beach, very nice and cute small house . Easy to get the keys, but maybe 2 keys would be nice if you want to split and come backt at different times All linens were very nice , good quality and clean. We would come back in summer and if the couch was changed

No heating when we came in 12 degres in the room and the tiny heating took over 5 hours to warm the place. The bathroom has got no heating so kept cold the whole time. The main room is so small than when the sleeping couch is unfolded you cannot walk to the bathroom and needs to steps on the bed. This sleeping couch is also quite old fashion and uncomfortable (metal rods across digging in your side and and a dip in the worn out center where you roll down during the night)

"AVOID IF YOU ARE A SOLO FEMALE TRAVELLER!! Waste of money and extremely disappointing service and amenities."

3.0

The location was good as it is walking distance to the train station with various restaurants and shops nearby. But location means very little when the property itself and the service is terrible!

The owner of the property, Toby, was extremely difficult to get hold of, I tried 4 times to contact him during what I considered to be an emergency and his phone went straight to voicemail - THE FRONT DOOR WOULDN’T LOCK, so I was forced to leave the property unlocked with all my personal belongings inside. I also had to go to sleep without locking the door, and as a solo female traveller I found this to be absolutely UNACCEPTABLE!! The WiFi code was wrong so I had to work on my laptop by hotspotting my mobile phone, but the phone service in the area was terrible, and as a result of there being no WiFi, the TV also wouldn’t connect either. The room was also very cold and I had to manually reset the heating. The wine glasses had lipstick stains on them. The sofa bed was also too big for the room so I had to climb over it every time I needed to use the bathroom as the end of the bed almost touches the wall at the other side of the room. The shower head was also broken, and hanging down towards the wall so I was unable to wash my hair. The cleaning lady, Zara, was helpful in sorting out the door and WiFi, but it was an absolute waste of money for a week’s stay when there are hotels and other similar options nearby. I wouldn’t recommend staying here at all.

Nice little place, everything you need to serve yourself is present

Sofa bed is uncomfortable for two grown up people and when you roll it out the way to the bath room is blocked.

"Lovely cottage, would stay again if the sofa bed issue is resolved."

7.0

The Little Cottage is in a great location, 5 mins to beach and 3mins to high street with pubs, restaurants and local shops. It’s a an ideal place to stay if you want to hike the Seven Sisters route. It was clean and nicely decorated but small (which was expected). Kitchen was well stocked and had a working oven / hob / fridge. Keys were easy to get from a lockbox and there is a cute little front garden. It’s an ideal place for 1-2 people but too small if you have young children. The bathroom was well stocked and when the water heated up the pressure was good and warm. I enjoyed my stay here.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t clear that the bed is a sofa bed that pulls out and takes up the half the space in the cottage (living / bedroom studio) and there was some difficulty taking it in and out every day, which meant having to climb over it. I would not recommend staying here if you have access needs or are slightly older / have mobility issues. You have to climb over to reach the bathroom. The sofa bed is also incredibly uncomfortable as the mattress is very flat and it dipped in the middle, and the springs were digging in. I feel this could easily be resolved by purchasing a new sofabed that fits the space better (as many previous guests have noted). There is a TV which should connect to the wifi, but unfortunately I was only able to connect on one evening. The wifi router is not in the cottage which meant I couldn’t fix the issue myself but I did text the owner and housekeeping staff who were very responsive. However, they were not able to resolve the issue and I had to buy more data to use whilst I was there. I felt for the price of the stay, that was quite frustrating. There is nowhere to wash your clotjes / hang up wet clothes however there is a launderette nearby. We were 2 guests for 5 days and if we stayed any longer, we might have preferred a bigger place and a comfortable bed, especially for the price as it’s one of the more expensive places in Seaford.

"Pleasant, well-designed and light, handy for the beach, shops and train station."

I didn't like the cooker hob, the stinky duvet cover and the sofa-bed wouldn't convert back into a sofa so I couldn't relax and watch the TV screen.

"Pleasant"

The manager was very responsive, the place is in an excellent location and lots of information about activities was provided.

The bed was uncomfortable, thankfully the manager was responsive on this and provided a topper. The sheets were dirty and the shower drain was blocked. The wi-fi did not work, as a result neither did the telly.
