Family friendly home by the beach

Good timely communication from Andy. Not a bad house overall but mis-described.

House is advertised with the first main heading as 'Beachfront Location'. It simply is not. It is 100m or more from the beach with 2 houses (I think) in-between it and the sea. The only view you get of the sea is a partial view from 1 upstairs bedroom window. It is advertised as 'direct beachfront access' which reinforces the 'Beachfront Location' narrative. In fact, access is via a narrow, unkempt public path that is around 100m long. By this definition of 'direct beachfront access' then any public road leading to the beach is 'direct beachfront access'. We stayed for 3 of the 4 nights booked and tried to make the most of it despite our disappointment. We left 1 day early as it was my wife's birthday and I did not want her to be disappointed on the actual day - we went to a hotel that genuinely had a beachfront location. I told Andy about all of this and he apologised but said that it was Booking.com's fault as they described it as 'Beachfront', not him. I find this extremely difficult to believe. He also said that the pin location on the map was correct - as if to say the location details are accurate. I also wanted to give him a chance to make amends by offering a partial refund or something but nothing was offered (I didn't explicitly ask). You also have to pay an extra £35 for damage waiver insurance or put up £500 deposit in case of damage. In total I paid over £1000 for 4 nights which is extremely poor value for this property that is not on the beach.

Location, parking and well equipped kitchen lounge and dining room and sun room was nice

Not enough storage in bedrooms Ideally would be good to have towel rack in bedrooms Heating was a problem and not easy to control and owner had to get neighbour in to help out. One radiator in the bedroom did not work at all. They offered to get plumber in but we were not happy to stay around waiting or leave key. Washing machine was not working properly, not able to use dryer on its own.

Great location, lovely cosy house. The owner was very helpful, and the info left was extremely useful. It was a brilliant stay and very clean, just what we wanted for our three night break. Thanks to Andy (the owner) for all the help. We would go again.

Twin beds are only 2ft 6in - ideal for child or small adult. They do go together to make a double, and with a sofa bed in lounge, you can get around it if you need something wider. As average sized adults, there was no problem.

Nice little house in a great location.

The owner didn't send the code for the key box in time. Also answering messages took very long to finally get the code to access the house. Later, we recognized that the back door was unlocked, there were no instructions or hints (lifting the handle) to lock the back door.

Location great just by the beach, easy access, very clean on arrival, all of the necessary facilities to make a holiday good.
