"Lovely property in a great location."

10.0

The cottage and location are perfect. We were a party of 8 adults visiting for a birthday celebration, staying for 4 nights and all wished it could of been longer. The property gave us everything we wanted and more. From the moment we entered into the kitchen area, through to the top floor master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and snug, we had a wow moment with every turn and every door opened. The bedrooms are all of a good size, tastefully decorated ,in keeping with the cottage's history. The kitchen is well equipped, the lounge area is cosy, the beds are comfy and with the added bonus of 2 parking permits was a big plus. The quirkiness of the property will be a lovely forever memory. Would highly recommend a stay at this cottage, if you like history, charm and quirkiness. ,

Not a dislike, more of an observation...a bigger capacity fridge/freezer might be more suitable for larger groups. Another consideration would be the stairs and reduced headroom in certain parts for some visitors needs. But, overall, not one thing we didn't like.

"Enjoyable stay, fabulous location and quirky"

9.0

Location, comfortable feel and reasonably good facilities

Water pressure is challenging. Water pressure insufficient to support both bathrooms. Also with dishwasher and kitchen demands all need to be managed

"A super cosy cottage in the perfect location."

9.0

Perfect location. Really lovely cottage with a lot of character and felt super cosy. Beds comfy with nice bedding too. Would defo book again.

Bathrooms could do with an update and a bit more attention to detail on cleaning.. ie, edges of carpet. Also, lots of cobwebs missed. Told to wash everything and put away but no fairy liquid provided. Also, just basics that you’d expect from hosts like tea or coffee in pots are not provided,

"Good central location in Looe, close to beach/East quay"

7.0

Good central location close to Looe beach (less than 5 mins walk), shops, restaurants, coastal paths, boat trips. As a family of 8 of mixed ages and mobility, the location had something for everyone being in the centre of Looe. Looe sea safari boats and other boat operators were also a few minutes walk from Lantau cottage. Recommend Colin (Evie J Boat trips) who was very informative and showed us seals on Looe island enroute to Polperro/return trip. Weather was kind during our stay and we enjoyed family beach time. South West coastal paths on the doorstep. Lantau cottage was comfortable and had good social space with open plan kitchen/dining room/lounge area. 2 car parking spaces allocated with the property - one at the beach car park (less than 5 min walk) and one at Millpool car park (10-15 mins walk away). Drop off area close to property and permits were on the kitchen table on arrival to put in vehicles. Late check in/early check out probably due to how busy the area gets on the narrow streets in/out of the centre with lots of footfall/pedestrians.

We were disappointed with the size of the fridge (standard under counter) for the size of the property. There was a very small freezer on top of the washing machine in a cupboard by the front door. Unfortunately this was iced up a lot which made it even smaller in capacity and again was not adequate for the size of the property/group size. Overall the property was in need of some maintenance (broken window in one bedroom), back door would not open (had expanded) and needed a more thorough deep clean in some areas. No issues with bedding/linens/towels/bathrooms. The lockbox had corroded and it was difficult to open it and lock it again. Also the external bins had padlocks on which were difficult to access. The seagulls were particularly loud first thing (no need for alarm clocks).
