The Nook, boutique Galena cottage

The location was really nice. Super close to downtown galena. Parks, trails, dining and entertainment nearby

Had a foul smell in the place. Maybe from different pets

House was comfortable.

Hot tub needed some cleaning.

The walkable location to downtown was great! We appreciated being able to get back to a quiet place to relax.

We appreciate the allowance of dogs -however the dog smell was a bit strong (and we all have and love dogs). Seemed like the couch blankets and pillows could use a wash.. or maybe the dog bed? Nothing a really thorough cleaning shouldn’t fix.

Cozy little house, well maintained and decorated in a comfortable, appealing and offbeat style. Nice full kitchen, backyard hot tub, located at the end of a quiet street but a lovely short walk to downtown.

We've told the proprietors about a few small deficiencies--nothing that marred our stay; they were appreciative of the feedback and said that the matters would be attended to.

We love all the amenities! Love that it’s dog friendly and close to Main Street. The trolley even passed near the property during our tour.

Location, quiet & spotless. Great communication with host. Fit our needs perfectly.

Train tracks nearby & had one train go thru at night but not a big deal.

The girls and I had a fabulous time at this house! It is very cute and very comfy! Beds were like sleeping on a cloud! Highly recommend and would love to stay again!

The Nook was a beautiful, cozy place to stay in a charming neighborhood just blocks from Galena's downtown area where we visited shops and picked up food after our long drive. I would book the Nook again in a heartbeat and will be looking at their other properties as potential rentals for future trips. Loved the Nook!

Wish we would have more time to stay in Galena to see more of the sites and to take advantage of the Nook's hottub!

The kitchen table & chairs was a nice place to gather in the evening. The decor was nicely done as you could tell it was an older property that had been flipped. The smart lock on the front door was great. The hot tub looked great but because of the weather we never got to actually use. We were able to figure out the TV which was an added bonus. It wasn't until the next morning after we arrived that we figured out how to cross over the nearby walking bridge to get downtown. Up until then we thought we'd been misled about how close it was to downtown. We never really cooked a meal there but it worked fine for what we did need.

Could of used another chair in the living room for even 4 of us. A couple of zip lock bags or roll of aluminum foil in the kitchen would have been nice. Several of the coffee mugs needed to be rewashed. One smaller plate had a bad chip in it and should be thrown out. There should definitely be a pull down shade on the kitchen door as it would be so easy for someone to come up on the porch & look in.
