"Wonderful cottage in a sleepy village"

10.0

Loved the beautiful cottage; clean, warm, comfortable beds, everything that we could need. The location was great, such a lovely quiet sleepy village, with pub and shop, which was also close to towns such as Bedale and Masham. Met the lovely host (Sarah) as we arrived, who had kindly left us a lovely cake/fruit. There was also a HUGE teddy bear which my 9 year old Granddaughter loved and carried round with her.

I honestly cannot think of anything that could have been better.

"it was so good that i wished that we could live there forever. Very highly recommended."

Everything was just perfect. Lovely and airy, smelt very fresh when entering and we were met on arrival by Sarah the host, who was very welcoming, and there was even a sponge cake and strawberries provided which was very tasty and 8 eggs left for our use if needed.

there was nothing that we didn’t like.

"Superb stay, would 100% recommend"

10.0

Our host, Sarah, met us with a smile and really did go out of her way to make our stay happy and comfortable. The cottage is well laid out, beautifully decorated throughout and extremely comfortable. The cottage has many lovely walks on its doorstep, including the Arboretum (which is a must visit). There are loads of lovely towns and castles to visit, aswell as a fantastic pub that served excellent food in the village. Little personal touches like getting our children's names to address them personally with a surprise from Parr the Bear was really lovely. We loved the cake when we arrived and the cottage was really well stocked with everything we needed, even including things like dishwasher tablets. The beds were comfortable and clean, and the sheets were excellent quality. The addition of black-out curtains ensured a great night sleep.

There wasn't really anything we didn't like. We had a small issue with the wifi, although this was being rectified during our stay so wasnt really a problem as we we out so much at the many places to visit. If you were staying with really young children maybe the use of a bed guard might come in handy, but with our two(3&7) we just pushed the beds together and this gave them space to roll around without plopping off the edge. Sarah was extremely accommodating on this and even offered to zip the beds together to make up a king-size with the larger bedding; though we were fine with the single beds. As I say, our hosts really did go the extra mile.

Good location to walk or visit attractions, locally or just a short drive. The cottage is very well equipped, homely and comfortable. Would definitely like to stay again.
