We follow a lean, self-service and no-frills hospitality model to keep stays affordable, with select amenities available on a pay-as-you-use basis. Alcohol, drugs, misconduct, non-payment, theft, vandalism or policy violations will lead to immediate eviction without refund and possible permanent blacklisting. Outside food is strictly prohibited inside the hostel premises. Our cafe serves vegetarian food with self-service culture and operates 8 AM–2 PM and 6 PM–11 PM (timings may vary) Smoking is allowed only in designated smoking zones within the premises. For group bookings of 2+ guests, same-dorm accommodation is not guaranteed as room allocation is automated and subject to availability. Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability. Visitors are allowed only in common areas between 9 AM and 9 PM and are not permitted inside rooms. Female dorms are strictly for female guests only. Local IDs are accepted. Limited parking is available on-site subject to availability (up to 10 cars). Silent hours are observed daily from 10 PM to 8 AM. The Hosteller is a backpacker hostel chain suited for young travellers, and does not permit guests below 18 years of age, even with legal guardians. The property is pet friendly, and we allow pets only in private rooms (not dorms). Any damages are attributable to the pet owners.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation. Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. Payment before arrival by bank transfer is required. The property will contact you after you book to provide instructions. A deposit may be required at the property.

"Do your research then decide (2 Hosteller locations in Shimla) but lots of other choices"

The view from the room was spectacular as you're in the hills overlooking Shimla. The room is modern and spacious. This version of Hosteller is suites only, not hostel.

It was cold and raining in Shimla when we were there and there no heat in the room. There is a thermostat for central heating but it wasn't turned on. We had to rent space heaters at 600 INR per day (should have been 300 INR per their website). Also the location is isolated, far from anything but other hotels. We had a driver so he had to take us places and return us to the hotel. The food at the hotel seemed like microwaved boxed dinners - not great-specially if that's all that is available in the area.

"Good location, clean, great views but with some downsides."

Property is clean. Location and view is great.

1) Room heater was not provided. They charged 600 extra rent for a night for a heater which cost 900-1000. (Convection heater) 2) too kuch focus on using their app. Rather forcing everyone to use it. From adding extra services to ordering food.

Very clean and comfortable rooms. The views were amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Glu app was a bit of a faff. Also the room was extremely cold and you had to pay for a small fan heater.

I recently stayed at The Hosteller Shimla Valley View in Shimla and had a wonderful experience. The combination of breathtaking views, comfortable accommodation, and warm hospitality made my trip truly memorable. The property offers stunning views of the hills and is conveniently located near Mall Road, Ridge. The rooms were well-maintained, spacious, and provided all necessary amenities. staff was very helpful and professionals Kudos to them.
