"The apartment was more than adequate, the stay was very stressful"

The location was very good. The apartment was clean. There was actually a clothes dryer

I had an accident and some water boiled over on the stove. For some reason in the wiring of the stove top there were bare wires and insufficient circuit breaker. Not only did it cause a general power outage, but the stove shorted out. When the owner came, she and I presume her son who had installed the stove began to berate me and act like i had been irresponsible. They then lectured me that one I should not be cooking ( one of the main reason I take apartments over hotels) and two how could I possibly let this happen, and three my license plates on my car were not attached right and four why did I not just go to the restaurant down the block. They then demanded I pay for the stove, though did not follow through on that. I have learned that since I left they went to my ex-employer and gossiped about how bad a renter I was and how I irresponsibly caused damage to the apartment. These were the rudest people I have encountered in my 30 plus years of living in Slovakia.
