Mastro - Discoveries and Memories

Our stay here included very good communication with what felt like our own personal assistant, answering any questions we had and giving many good recommendations for restaurants. It felt like the we had the whole building to ourselves, it was very quiet and in a very good location, an easy walk to the ocean and to the garden up the hill. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is an elevator which made it much easier for my parents to go up and down to their room.

The rooms are a little small but still comfortable enough. There were other sitting areas available throughout the hotel that made it feel more spacious. I would recommend a bench of some sort for the garden area, my father would have gladly sat outside in that area, but there was not a place to sit.

Foi uma agradável surpresa a estadia neste hotel face à qualidade do mesmo, a sua localização, o profissionalismo e simpatia dos seus colabores e a atenção da proprietária, Raquel Lima. De facto, um hotel ou um espaço desta natureza, é e deve ser bem mais que as simples paredes que o suportam, os moveis que o decoram ou os pormenores arquitetônicos que o realçam. Um espaço de acolhimento, tem que ter vida, tem que nos dar conforto e aconchego, descanso e tranquilidade. Esses fatores, que muitas vezes se traduzem na diferença entre iguais, só podem ser encontrados na forma como é administrado e na simpatia de quem nos acolhe. Numa situação excecional de cancelamento do voo e check-in tardio, mostraram-se extremamente disponíveis e atenciosos. O quarto era impecável e o alojamento é bem localizado, tive de pena de não aproveitar melhor. Cama confortável e casa de banho impecável.

Wij kwamen hier per toeval terug door een geannuleerde vlucht. De manier waarop wij door de eigenaresse zijn opgevangen is absolute service en meer. Zij heeft er alles aan gedaan om onze vervelende ervaring te verzachten en mee te denken wat voor ons de beste oplossing was, ook nadat een tweede keer een vlucht werd geannuleerd. Ook veel hulp en tips bij de afhandeling van de claim, maar ook wat te bezoeken en waar te gaan eten/drinken. De accommodatie zelf ligt in het centrum van Angra do Heroísmo, dicht bij leuke restaurants en barretjes, een goede uitgaanspositie voor dingen te ontdekken in de stad. De "India" kamer was een ruime suite met bank, tv, bed, koffiezetapparaat en airconditioning. De suite was schoon en het ontbijt prima, tafel netjes opgemaakt en voorzien van vers eten op de afgesproken tijd.

Sehr zentrale Lage. Eine nette Dame die sich um alles gekümmert hat. Gute Ausstattung der Suite, alles sehr sauber. Wir haben wegen Flugstornierung ganz kurzfristig gebucht. Trotzdem alles geklappt. Code für die Eingangstüre rasch per Mail erhalten und die Dame kam auch rasch vorbei um die Zimmerschlüssel zu übergeben. Ankunftszeit war immerhin 21 Uhr und gebucht um 20 Uhr. Großes Danke daher!!

The hotel is stylish and has a great atmosphere. It's right in the centre of the town. So plenty of restaurants, cafes etc near by. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend staying here!

This hotel is located in the most tourist-friendly part of Angra do Heroísmo, in a beautiful historic area full of restaurants and atmosphere. Parking directly in front of the hotel is not possible except for loading and unloading luggage, but we were able to park for free in the street above the marina, and there is also a parking lot few minute walk away. The hotel itself is beautiful, stylish, and very well maintained. The owner was extremely kind and allowed us a very early check-in, which we appreciated enormously after traveling. We stayed in a suite. It was one larger room where our whole family stayed together, including our teenage children. The sleeping areas were cleverly separated by a half wall, so although we shared one room, we still had a sense of privacy. The children slept on a sofa bed. The room and bathroom were modern, clean, and tastefully designed, and the whole building, including the reception area, had a lovely atmosphere. The owner also communicated very well throughout our stay and gave us many helpful recommendations about places to visit on the island.

Unfortunately, the breakfast experience was extremely disappointing and honestly the worst breakfast arrangement we have experienced while traveling. Our reservation on Booking.com was clearly for 4 people (3 adults and our 14-year-old daughter). The room was prepared correctly for four guests, but breakfast was always set only for two people. The amount of food provided would have been sufficient for two people only, and even then not for a large appetite. There were small portions of scrambled eggs (roughly from two eggs), a little fruit, a small amount of bread, a few slices of cheese and ham, and a little butter and a jam. We received a pot of coffee for two (maybe coffe substitute ?), and there was cocoa powder available for the children, but initially not enough hot milk even for proper cocoa. The children were not given mugs or cutlery at first either. After asking, the staff always brought additional milk, cups, and cutlery, but the next morning everything was again prepared only for two guests, and again we had to ask for missing items and additional food. For my husband and me, the portions were roughly enough, but the children — who were officially included in the reservation and price — were clearly not taken into account when preparing breakfast. This made us genuinely sad, because otherwise the stay and communication were excellent, and the hotel itself is truly beautiful.
