Two-Bedroom Apartment at Royal William Yard, Plymouth

Warm Cosy well equipped apartment located in ground floor

view was not sea facing but you can always walk around. Parking area some construction work ongoing. it was tricky to locate it when we arrived as a van was temporarily blocking the area.

Location

Did not receive instructions for parking and keysafe on time. Property needed better lighting in living room. One of us bumped into glass coffee table in dark and hurt their leg. Bed needs better mattress as too soft.

The flat was in a good location close to where we were meeting family for a 60th birthday party at a restaurant in Royal William Yard. The flat was well equipped and tastefully furnished.

Didn't like parking spot where scaffolding and barriers were encroaching on the bay. Luckily we arrived while a workman was standing near our parking bay and he physically moved the barriers so I could get my car in. Even so my passengers had to get out before I parked otherwise they would never have got out their doors. The mattress on my bed was far too soft and I didn't get one good nights sleep. The windows are also not double glazed and allowed a draught in and also didn't do much to stop noise from outside especially the seagulls very early in the morning.

PDF with key information was sent late causing problems with parking (almost got a ticket) and entry. Easily resolved once I called but the parking bit was nearly a big problem. Please ensure PDF is sent and as early as possible

I like seagulls but the "dawn chorus" on one of the days was a real problem. I think they slept in on the Saturday! Not helped as no double glazing (due to listed nature of building).

We booked this apartment due to a photo showing a view of the sea from the outside seating ‘terrace’ area. On arrival we discovered there was no such view. In some cases I know there is a selection of different apartments but in this case the agent had 1 apartment and had used a fake photograph. The building and immediately outside are designated parking spaces, so sitting on the little outside ‘terrace’ was unpleasant with cars going by ( the yard has a one way system so all cars visiting restaurants and everywhere else have to drive by) and reversing into parking spaces. We booked and paid more than we usually do because we thought we’d have a sea view. Skye holidays have ignored my emails I sent on arrival, and when I followed up after, they responded only once to say they would investigate my claim that there was no sea view and the photo was misleading. They have now replaced the photo but have not replied to me or my many emails asking for an update. I have given them a month to let me know the outcome of their ‘investigation’ and all I asked for is an acknowledgment and an apology. Nothing.

Lovely apartment in a fascinating location, convenient for visiting the main historic parts of Plymouth

The lack of a dishwasher was inconvenient, as was the low level of lighting in the lounge area. A cleaning fee of £130 is steep for a three night stay, and there were areas that had not been properly cleaned.
