Bali-inspired Villa with Dipping Pool by Pallet Homes

From the outside, the house itself has incredible curb appeal. The images used to market this home are fantastic. UNFORTUNATELY, not all that glitters, is gold. The owner needs to get in there and clean NOW!! THIS IS URGENT! You know when cleaning is sort of glossed over until weeks and months go by and before you know it, it’s too late with the grime? This is that place. Ants are everywhere. When you eat, ants! Sit on furniture, ants! Ants on your food in an instant. Ants everywhere and it’s disturbing. Upon close inspection, everything is simply old, broken, dirty, and tattered. Bedding, consisting of ONLY two, thin, tattered, stained, bedsheets per bed, is SUBPAR for this rental price tag. Four, old-style, rickety, box A/C units, cannot keep up with hot weather. A/C in kitchen-living area, barely works. Kitchen items are awful. Bent frying pan with handle falling off during use. Drain plugs broke. Dish drainer was filthy.

House is dirty. Particularly the floors are disgustingly filthy. The very first day after (supposedly) cleaned for my arrival, if feet were damp, like after a shower, or using the small dipping pool, dirty foot prints are visible on obviously unmopped floors. Literal dirt outlines of your footprints. Shower-wall tile caulking is black with grime/mold. And truly, in an unbelievable move, the owner notifies us that they’re going to clean the pool on my very last evening staying, thus making the only good thing about this house unusable on our last night. I travel extensively and have rarely been so disappointed by a stay on booking.com, but this was bad.

Masters’ Bedroom AC not working properly. Water dripping of the AC is on the outlet - fire hazard. Instructions on how to pick up or meet up the owner should be clear. When approached the house next door per instructions to pick up the key (thinking that she will give me the key as per instructions) the lady just walked towards the rented house without out saying anything so I asked her can I have the key? That’s when she told me she will give the key inside the property because I have instructions!
