La Casetta In Piazza

Very nice hostess.. cozy, clean and organized apartment with amazing views

Of course it can be noisy at the busy piazza … No problem

It was all it was written up to be, and then some. It was clean, warm and cozy. The Wi-Fi worked excellent, and the bed was top notch and firm. And the view was exceptional. But the best thing about this property was the family that rents this fantastic property! They were always there for me answering any questions and always willing and able to introduce me to their beautiful town of Sulmona.

Being on the Piazza, there was some noise. It did not go until late, and it wasn’t so bad that it was annoying or that I complained. If you want to be on the Piazza, you need to know that there are gonna be people walking around into the evening. But that’s part of the fun of renting this apartment.

We booked for seven days. Sulmona is an interesting town, however 2-3 days would be enough. The apartment is located right on the piazza. Great view and a quick walk to the main area (50 m) with shops and cafes. The check-in is very easy as there is a key box one uses. We only used the downstairs of the apartment as there were two of us. The size of the apartment is perfect for two people. The owner is very friendly in all correspondence with her.

The door key is difficult to open the front door. There isn't a coffee machine. One needs to use a small stove top espresso maker. It would be better to have a kettle and big mugs. We used the kitchen a fair amount. It is functional. The radiator in the kitchen did not work and there is no heating in the lounge, so we found it to be cold in that area. There is a pretty small cast iron stove in the living room which has not been assembled totally yet and could not be used. The beading on the shower door needs attention as it has dislodged and the bathroom floor gets wet when taking a shower. The bed and pillows were not comfortable and the grocer below started at 06h00 every morning and whilst we were there the vendors for the market set up from 06h00 every morning so there was noise from 06h00 until 02h00 every day (may just be over this period of the year). One can manage for a day or two. Loud bangs from fire works lasted all day and night in the piazza for 3 days over the New Year period. This is out of the owners control but just be aware if you are noise sensitive. Compared to other accommodation we have stayed in, in Italy, it seemed less value for the price. Booking.com does not indicate the city tax of 1 euro pp per day which is paid at the property.

The property was exactly what I was looking for while staying in Sulmona. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was clean and functioning without any problems.

The location was excellent for me! I had a wonderful view of the square from the windows!

The key was difficult to turn but I always got in. I am lefthanded and often have problems with keys that turn more than 360 degrees.

The location is out of this world. Overlooking Piazza Garibaldi, it doesn't get any better than that when visiting Sulmona. The Casetta was beautifully furnished with a nice kitchen stocked with coffee supplies to start your morning right. The mattress and pillows made for a relaxing night's sleep. The Wi-Fi was excellent. As they say, the devil is in the details and the hostess added little touches that made my stay all that more pleasant. For example, a little sampling of confetti was waiting for me, which was nice. Additionally, there was a sewing kit that would have been invaluable had I lost a button and band-aids in case of a minor incident. The soap and shampoo were a cut above.

There is absolutely nothing I didn't like. However, given the location, it can be a bit noisy. This did not bother me in the least (fair trade-off for the area), but if someone is noise-sensitive, be aware.

Amazing apartament with wonderfull view. The most romantic place I have been. At a hearts of fascinating Sulmona.Very friendly host you can rely on. I wish we could spend more time there.Maybe next time.
