The property was cute and had everything we needed for a quick stay. Also like having our own private entrance to come and go as we please.

Unfortunately Cape Town was experiencing a heat wave - bedroom could have benefitted from a ceiling fan rather than a stand fan.

The owners were very hospitable and decent people who responded to any issues good/bad proactively. I stayed for a month so of course there were a few glitches but overall I enjoyed my stay. The location is absolutely spot on giving easy access to beaches, Cape Town, Constantia, St.James, Fish Hoek, and Hout Bay. Shopping, grocery and food outlets all on the doorstep. Super secure behind automatic gates and secure off street parking. The unit has a washing machine that was efficient and essential for a long stay. It has a great little sunspot area infront of the unit that gives you protection from Western Cape winds and has good sunshine all day a must for me, I’ve overdosed on Vitimin D. In summing up with a few improvements to the property I would consider a longterm let of 6 months.

Firstly the items mentioned below I write about negatively were never on offer and I was the person responsible for the booking so I have no direct criticism of the owners. The unit got very hot at times especially on extremely hot days and there is no aircon just two fans that personally I dislike sleeping in as they I believe are unhealthy longterm and disturbed both my sleep and my partners. My main criticism if any is the lack of cooking utensils and equipment for a long stay, particularly there were very few utensils pots and pans and totally inadequate dinner plates hardly fit for a meal. Not even a corkscrew in the land of the vineyard 🤣 I found that stunning luckily I carry three or four around. The owners did provide me with a second hot plate otherwise it would have been impossible to provide substantial meals. I could overcome all issues easily as, myself and my partner have our own property in the area so we could provide extra pots and pans and plates etc. I stress for a short stay all is adequate just. My only real gripe was a lack of privacy there is no curtain/blackout between the living area/kitchen so the light woke us at 5:30am everyday and cooking of any substance permeated our clothes and the bedroom. One could see directly to the double bed through the kitchen window. It made us feel very uncomfortable so we improvised a partial screen ourselves. Again a privacy issue one can see directly through the fence between owners property and our rental unit and with home help in the utility area three days a week all day long my girlfriend never felt comfortable sunbathing in our garden and never did. As for myself I’m not to bothered but I got her point. Lastly when cooking there was a continuous ant issue on kitchen worktops, I never complained about as I’m aware that is almost impossible to prevent especially in a cooking area where preventative measures would be extremely unhealthy.

The house was comfortable and very neat. Our hosts were amazing people.
