"A comfortable cottage in an evocative and atmospheric location in beautiful Pembrokeshire."

8.0

This was our second stay at Y Bwthyn, and the things that we have so loved 17 years earlier were undiminished. The location in the Pembrokeshire countryside was wonderful, with views of open fields dotted with Frisian cows, hedgerows and the odd neolithic standing stone made every day a pleasure. The cottage is roomy, and well laid out. The location with easy access to St Davids, Fishguard and Goodwick was very convenient. Easy day trips to experience the beauty of Pembrokeshire added to the enjoyment of our stay. We needed to contact the host over a couple of minor matters, and she was very communicative and accommodating of our requests.

The cottage is looking a little tired in some respects, particularly the kitchen fitout and equipment such as matching glasses. Although this is probably reflected in the very reasonable tariff, a little more attention to detail would enhance the visitor experience.
