The Stage Door Hotel

Very little. The bedding was clean but mismatched.

We were booked at the Grand Theatre and were short of time when we arrived. We dropped our luggage into the room and my partner went to use the bathroom. She called out to me to check out the shower cubicle. It was filthy and I really mean filthy!!! We had a quick discussion as to what to do and agreed that we didn’t have time to argue with the proprietor so we left for the show. We came back later and got into bed as there was no alternative, the next morning we has a look around and found filthy skirting boards behind the bed and a filthy window frame. We left without using the shower, the proprietor was nowhere to be found so that was that! The most annoying thing was that with a couple of hours cleaning and a tube of shower silicone the place wouldn’t have been so bad. The proprietor should be thoroughly ashamed of himself!!!

Chose this hotel for it's location primarily and the fact that it was in my price range. I travelled alone so my priorities are price and location, not really bothered about facilities or such like, it had a bed, shower, wardrobe with enough hangers, very important that and kettle, I wasn't going to spend all day in the room, so where ever I lay my head thats my home.

Didn't watch much telly but was disapointed that it kept going on and off, my fault that I did not report it as I couldn't be bothered, leave it to the next inmate ha.

It stinks off curry the hall way stairs needs a good clean first room they put me in no hot water and you cudent swing a cat tele was like the size of a bar chocolate 2nd room bigger but very dirty shower filthy mould dirty shower tray if they have a cleaner she needs sacking windows filthy dust on skirting carpet needs clean

Couldn't access the hotel. Neither phone number on booking.com nor phone number on the outside of the building, nor the numbers on google got a response (they aren't consistent). No clear front entrance. Tried knocking each dilapidated door Ring doorbell of no.12 got no answer. Don't risk your money.

No greeting on arrival. I rang the bell, the owner looked at me as he opened the door and didn’t so nothing. I said I’ve booked here for the weekend. He called my friend and I into the reception area. Gave me a room key, told me the number but didn’t say where it was located, eg 1st floor on the right. The smell downstairs from the owners cooking (no food service for guests) it lingers. Not a pleasant smell. The cleanliness was disgusting, carpets and stair carpets need a good professional hoover. The bedding was filthy in the 1st room we was given. Quilt cover had old stains on them but the pillow cases and bed sheet had fresh stains. Owner did apologise and said the cleaner mustn’t of done it today. He moved us to another room, the quilt cover had old stains, the bed sheet was clean.
