The Nook at Hillbrow

Very clean and well equipped. Very comfy beds and great location. Great communication with the owner beforehand and our young boys loved staying there too - we were very impressed, especially liked the extra touches of putting the bed guard on in preparation for us and the welcome basket.

Only thing we didn’t love was sitting eating dinner as it was a bit of a squeeze for four of us and one of the extra chairs was a bit tricky to sit on (black one) but it was a minor point - definitely not enough for us not to recommend it or book again.

The property mostly suited our needs perfectly. The location was ideal for its proximity to the venues we were going to and it was entirely level access throughout. The shower was excellent and very accessible for my wife who has restricted mobility. The house was well insulated and comfortable during some particularly severe weather.

Access outside was over rather thick loose gravel which made access using a rollator very difficult. This meant my wife, who was using one, needed help from the car to the entrance porch. While the house is well insulated the main bedroom could only get fresh air by opening the patio door facing the driveway. This is unusual and problematic when the weather is inclement.

Excellent location, spotlessly clean, extremely well equipped, super hosts. Complimentary box a welcome surprise. Would thoroughly recommend a stay at the Nook.

Entrance off the road a little difficult to find, perhaps paint the 3 stones white?

The property has everything you could possibly need, the bed is extremely comfortable, beautiful linen, all of the facilities are perfectly clean and it’s a great base for Paultons park. There are lots of thoughtful added extras, like kids toys in the cupboard, books and cuddly toys. Tracie was so helpful, we had to change a few of our plans around due to weather and she went out of her way to give us suggestions on what to do, she even offered for us to stay the following night instead of the night we were due so that we would hit better weather which was extremely kind. We visited the two pubs that Tracie recommended, and both were delicious. We couldn’t have had a better stay and it is perfect for a family as you have so much more room than a hotel.

Tracie has thought about a lot of things for this property, all the decor is sensible and tasteful, she’s really thought about how it is to stay in the property, which is more than many hosts do. The towels were lovely and thick, a big fridge and freezer and the room layouts were really good. The kitchen was well equipped, including kitchen roll, there were tissues around the house and a nonslip bathmat in the bathroom, handy things you often don’t get elsewhere. The welcome box was very welcome, again, it shows a real thought for wanting you to have a good experience.

I’d have liked a sink drainer for draining plates but that’s clearly me thinking of something I thought would be handy but really, it’s a minor thing against a load of positive elements.

We had the most perfect family stay. The Nook is amazing, even more beautiful and bigger in person than the photos show. Lovely touches like children's toys and books. Everything was spotlessly clean, functioning and great quality. We even had deer playing in the garden to watch some mornings. Great stay which exceeded my expectations.

Nothing could be faulted.

Accommodate was spacious and clean, comfy sofa and beds,, very well equipped kitchen. Quiet location but close enough to road network to get around the region.

Being picky here, by no means a deal breaker - aircon or fans in the hot summer days would be good. A lovely place to stay
