Sirhouse - Boutique Apartment in Ortigia

Very central and spacious with air conditioning and comfortable beds. The host was very responsive and easy to contact.

The bathroom could have used an upgrade and the water pressure was low. There was a little noise from the street but easily managed with earplugs.

Well, things started off a little rocky, as we got a message from Gianfranco as we were heading to the property, that there was an issue with the water (no water b/c of an aqueduct issue). At first we were alarmed, but needn't have been. Gianfranco met us when we got out of a taxi in town, and explained that he has other properties and he promptly escorted us to one very nearby. He also explained that we could move to the property we had booked the next day, and he even came and carried our luggage for us! The location was excellent - central to everything you want to walk to within Ortigia.

Just be aware that you will want earplugs. Garbage trucks collect empty bottles form the restaurants on Via Roma at all hours right below the bedroom windows.

Die Lage der Unterkunft war sehr zentral. Mitten im Geschehen. Alles fußläufig zu erreichen. Das Appartement hat eine schöne Größe.

ACHTUNG! Die Bilder die von dem Appartement angezeigt werden sind wahrscheinlich schon mehrere Jahre alt. Die Sauberkeit läßt sehr zu wünschen übrig. Die Spüle in der Küche verrostet. (Spüle und Ablauf) Heizkörper und Spiegel im Bad auch verrostet. Über dem Heizkörper möchte man keine Handtücher trocknen. Die Duschtür möchte man am Besten gar nicht erst anfassen. Das Schloss in der Tür fällt bald heraus. Wurde bereits 2024 von anderen Gästen bemängelt alles sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Wurde scheinbar alles sehr vernachlässigt. Das schöne helle Sofa wie auf den tollen Bildern gezeigt, war vielleicht mal hell. Dort wurde einfach ein dunkler Überwurf draufgelegt, der wahrscheinlich auch noch keine Waschmaschine gesehen hat. Auch alle Dekokissen waren schmutzig. Lampen nicht richtig an der Decke befestigt. Das es in so alten Häusern feucht riecht ist klar. Wenn sich Gäste ankündigen, könnte man aber schon vom Vermieter vorher etwas dagegen tun. Es gab währen unseres Aufenthaltes für einen Tag leider kein Wasser. Kann passieren. Die Reaktion vom Vermieter...."das ist halt mal so" keinerlei Problemlösungsansatz. Wo bekommt man für die Zeit vielleicht Wasserkanister. Wie kann ich als Vermieter vielleicht helfen....Nichts dergleichen!! Auch keine Nachfrage (Interesse) ob das Wasser wieder läuft. Sehr enttäuschend!! Ortigia ist aber wirklich eine Reise wert! Nur die Unterkunft wäre definitiv eine andere.

The location was perfect only a 3 minute walk to the duomo. Many shops and restaurants nearby. Easy access to all kinds of shops.

We had a problem on the 3 rd day there was no water. We contacted the owner and he was able to put us in another one of his apartments which was very nice. Unfortunately the elevator broke on the second day. He was very accommodating.

The appartment had perfect location right on one of the main old town streets of Ortigia. The appartment was central but still quiet inside. The air conditioning was excellent during hot july days.

This spacious two bedroom apartment in Ortegia was perfect for our visit as it was very central, beautifully decorated and had every utility you needed for your stay. Our host was very friendly and very helpful with any requests we made or any questions we had.
