"Exceptional"

10.0

"Fantastic experience for anyone looking to relax in a calm and welcoming place"

10.0

I had a fantastic time at La Maison Bleue. The owner was very welcoming and helped me relax fully. Once you enter, you feel like you have stepped into paradise! You can relax, sit right behind the pool where you can overlook the beach, and it's just an incredible experience. The breakfast was good as well. The staff was fantastic at making you feel welcomed. I can't recommend it enough.

Great pool, natural cooling, very friendly staff. Breakfast right by the sea. We had a great time and would definitely come again.

The food and drinks are a bit expensive.

"Lovely holiday in family double room in a niche, boutique hotel (more of a retreat than a hotel!)"

10.0

We stayed for two weeks. We were the only guests for the vast majority of the time; only on two single weekend days did anyone occupy some of the the ther five rooms. Staying for two weeks was clearly quite rare and unusual for the hotel. The hotel is more of a retreat than a hotel. Run along environmental lines, but also suffering impending encroachment of the ocean (slowed by large rocks positioned in between), you will either embrace the situation or wonder about your choice. We are firmly in the former category! The two rooms with ensuite were unusual, full of objects and paintings. Plenty of wooden furniture and wooden-slatted windows allowed the cooling sea breeze to enter both rooms. Beds were comfortable. Fixed and hand showers, with hot water. Everything worked. The staff were superb! Manager Mr Edoh was very helpful and Ms Obinna guided us round the main market on several occasions. The hotel's wifi was excellent. Only twice for short periods did we have no electricity. The swimming pool was substantial at 20 meters by 5 meters. Steps down into the pool, a paddling area, then main area with deep water nearer the hotel. The water was cool and clean. We swam there everyday! Breakfast was similar every morning: Spanish omelette, French bread, butter, coffee, etc, with Pineapple Juice Only for 3 days did the manager realise this, made a change to croissants. There was a menu for meals from the kitchen. There was also meals of the day, all reasonably priced. Drinks were marked up but not prohibitively so. The hotel was in Avepozo, by the roaring ocean. It was a three minute walk to the main road, with motrbaike, tuk-tuk and taxis can be hired. For CFA 100 you could go a kilometre wet to Baguida, where there was an Ecobank (with two ATMs for Mastercard use, up CFA400,000) and a very well-stocked Champion Supermarker opposite. We should also mention Coco Beach as nearby eating/relaxing establishments, 5 minutes stroll away.

There was no TV and no fridge. In the latter case, the manager gave us a shelf in the kitchen's fridge.
