Jungle Lodge

These rooms cannot accommodate an extra bed and children are not allowed in this room. The Jungle Lodges sit at an elevation of 15 feet and are reminiscent of the Raj era forest rest houses. They offer spectacular views of the jungle, the Shivalik hills and a seasonal riverbed that attracts deer, wild hog and the sometimes even tiger or elephant. They feature 10 feet wide wrap-around verandas and elegant colonial-inspired interiors that encourage you to unwind. Each lodge has a solar geysers and rain shower.

"Aptly ..a real jungle retreat."

9.0

The raw ambience & jungle decor . Great staff & service. Comfortable rooms, tastefully done. Curated food menu's & sumptuous.

Though the pool is nice, does need some maintenance.

"Rustic luxury! Highly recommended!"

10.0

Location location location. Right at the Jhirna safari zone (and Dhela zone) so it was convenient for early morning safaris. The pool was lovely on a hot afternoon. The breakfast was excellent and always had continental and Indian breakfast offerings it try. The chef is excellent and creates unique dishes with a twist. The resort offered some activities like rock painting and spa services. The cottage was spacious and amazing. It had 2 separate bedrooms and bathrooms so our family of 4 was very comfortable. Gave a nice feeling of luxury while also being rustic.

If I must mention something I didn’t like as much… it was the food timings. Dinner was not open until around 8pm and the limited food menu for dinner meant mostly Indian food offerings, which was delicious for me, but my kids didn’t prefer it. The other dining option closes at 7:00 but they were flexible and let us order some items that were not on the menu.

"We Found the Forest at Jim's Jungle Retreat!"

10.0

JJR is a find! Let me break this down for you. The Retreat- it is a 15 acre agricultural land adjacent to Jim Corbett buffer zone. It is reforested and the layout and the architecture beautifully conforms to its ethos of being a nature resort. Accommodation- we stayed in a two bedroom, two bathroom cottage. The cottage was spacious with an old world Dak Bungalow charm but with all modern amenities .The decor and furnishings are tasteful and comfortable and in keeping with the theme of the Retreat. Our cottage had a great verandah with super comfy seating. The cottage has a lot of privacy thanks to the many trees and shrubs that surround each cottage. These natural screens attract a delightful variety of birds that chirped and twittered throughout the day. Facilities- There's a two storied cafe overlooking the buffer zone, a poolside dining area that's quite spacious, a nicely sized swimming pool, spa and yoga room, a fairly large gathering room where one can play board games or just sit and relax in the evenings. There's a bar and a good library with books on wildlife as well as my childhood favourites, Asimov and Alistair Maclean. JJR also arranges safaris to Jim Corbett. A hassle free premium experience worth every penny. We went to Jhirna and Bijrani. USP- JJR is a mini sanctuary in itself and there's a nicely constructed nature trail within the retreat with water bodies, bamboo thickets and a machan with comfy chairs to sit. Its a birdwatcher's delight. The naturalists at JJR are knowledgeable and ready to guide the guests. Every evening the retreat screens documentaries on conservation which were very interesting. Food- there's limited choice of food but prepared really well, especially the Kumaoni delicacies. there's no room service as there are small animals around. the staff is courteous, pleasant and ready to help. JJR is immaculately maintained and very clean.

It's not a your regular sort of hotel. Don't expect TV, and shiny resorty stuff. It 's a comfortable, elegant and understated resort. Choose JJR if you want a quiet holiday in the lap of nature.

"So happy that we found this place. We did not use their safari services because we stayed in park but this was the perfe"

10.0

The rooms were very comfortable and also nicely decorated with antiquey furniture and art with themes of the location. Rooms were also quiet large and the two different rooms we stayed in both had lovely outdoor space to sit as well as windows with screens that open to let in air. There is also a library with lots of books about the history and wildlife (among other topics) and another patio to sit and read. I also much appreciated the yoga room! The staff were 100%, excellent attention We liked the rewilding philosophy of the resort and steps toward sustainability We much appreciated the French press to make our own coffee too as we typically like it stronger than normally served

Nothing. All fabulous!
