Dumfries Apartment 2

Location was good … surroundings were not good.

The entrance to the apartment block was awful . The stairwell was dirty with a disgusting urine smell mixed with the air freshener at the entrance to the apartment. Apartment was ok but the bed was awfully soft . Mattress definitely needs replacing. Felt like the bedding hadn’t been washed properly . Kitchen didn’t feel clean and the state of the oven was shocking … didn’t want to use it. Fridge froze our salad items which I then had to throw away. It was cold in Dumfries and we were given no instructions on how to heat property. I know not much can be done about the communal areas of the property but if that was my investment, I would have said a thing or 2.

This excouncil flat has been renovated with care inside and has new fluffy carpets in the rooms. Easy to access and the stairs were old but had been brushed. Lots of pillows to choose from and a small but functional bathroom. A spacious kitchen with a small table and low seats.

The mirror on the bathroom wall is too bulky and it's easy to bump into it when going in/out. A flat mirror would work better and require less cleaning. A towel rack would also be a useful addition, as well as a tea pot for sharing. As other comments mentioned, the double mattress was a bit too soft and the seagulls were quite noisy, but we still slept quite well. Very good value for 4 people in any case.

The apartment is beautiful. It's very welcoming once you're inside. It's nicely decorated, the beds are comfortable, and there is plenty of space. The shower is lovely and powerful too, which was good. Plenty of parking with no issues. It suited us nicely for a short stay visiting friends.

The smell in the communal corridor, which is no fault of the owner. The smell is clearly coming from one of the flats below. It was, however, extremely strong and unpleasant. As others have mentioned, it would be good to have a little table to sit at in the kitchen. It wasn't easy for my 5 year old to eat his meals.

The flat was beautiful, well located every thing we needed was there.

Good location for town but poor apartment block from outside. Very clean and comfortable inside.

Somewhere to sit and eat breakfast or any other meal. Bed very soft. Missing a few basic things for a weeks stay.

Proximity to the ice rink and the town centre.

There was no table/chairs, would recommend this would be a good addition. We also really didn’t like the smell of the communal staircase, we realise that this is out with your control and that you had tried to cover the smell with air freshers. But while we were there it was really bad.
