Dumfries Apartment 2

Email from booking.com had wrong access code to key safe, but owner promptly replied to voicemail message and called back with correct code. Owner also very helpfully dropped by with supply of toilet roll after being told there was only third of roll available in apartment! Location very handy for town centre but was peaceful & quiet, for good night's sleep.

The facilities were excellent, really fresh, clean and bright. All the comforts of home. There was a real attention to detail in the apartment, with lovely gestures everywhere, eg, biscuits, teabags, and cotton balls. Really close to dumfries town centre, and the area was really quiet and safe. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

The apartment is in what looks like council or ex council flats, communal stairs which had a really funky smell and 2 flights of stairs. Not horrendous, but did put me off at first. Once I realised it was quiet, I quickly moved psdt it.

The location is good. It is very near to the town centre so there are plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants nearby. The apartment is very nice and there is everything that you need for a short stay. The bed was so comfortable that my grandson wanted to take it home with him. Unfortunately it didn't fit in the car. We would definitely stay there again.

To be honest, the outside of the building was not what we were expecting but that did not spoil our stay.

We loved how clean and modern the apartment was. Location is absolutely fabulous, nice and quiet residential area so no noisy pubs, but still easy walk into the town. Very comfy, clean beds. Big, spacious rooms Great powerful shower. Very sweet of the hosts to leave biscuits and fancy tea bags 😁 New carpets Easy to feel at home and comfortable. Very prompt responses from hosts.

Only a couple small points, nothing major or that would put us off staying again. There is only a mirror in the double bedroom, the single beds room didn't have drawers or a mirror so all women getting ready in one room with 1 mirror was a bit difficult (there is a mirror in the bathroom) The plug socket is at the other side of the dressing table area, no mirror and the hairdryer lead wouldn't stretch over to the side with the mirror to see. Suggestion for a second mirror to be put in at the other side of the vanity area and second bedroom. Last point, wasn't ideal not being able to leave bags after check out (we have stayed in many apartments similar and hosts let you leave a bag/case in a closet) as we were not going home till later in the afternoon. There is space to leave bags in the coat closet as you first come in. Perhaps this could be looked into for future bookings. Would advise to take a small bag if you are in Dumfries after you check out as we had to carry them around with us all day.

This is a very nice apartment in a not so nice industrial neighborhood. There was plenty of parking and there was a new washing machine which was very appreciated having been on vacation for 2 weeks when we arrived (we had laundry soap with us - none in the unit). There were basic utensils, cups, bowls, plates and cooking pots and pans & paper towels. The drying rack was easy to find in a closet and there were plenty of hangers. The living room was very nice, comfortable and the entire apartment was exceptionally clean. The linens on the beds were of good quality. The unit was much, much nicer than the neighborhood/building presented. The owners obviously spent time in a recent & nice renovation. We had dinner at The Corner Bar/Restaurant in town and can recommend it highly. We were comfortable for our 2 night stay, but would find another place to stay in a nicer area of town.

It was a little awkward to find and the entry into the building was bare, questionably clean, like an old warehouse. The bushes along the sidewalk needed to be cut back, they obstructed over half the sidewalk that led around the building and then to the door to the stairs which was hard with suitcases. In fact the neighborhood was worn and definitely industrial, inhabited by seagulls that cawed all day and night. It was warm and the window needed to be open at night and, well, the seagulls... not the best serenade. There was no table or chairs in the kitchen to eat/sit at which was a shame as there was more than enough room. There were very few basics in the kitchen, just tea, coffee, & sugar: no salt, pepper, condiments, etc. We stayed in other like properties and there were always basic food stuffs in the kitchen. It would have been a nice touch to have a fan in the apartment to move the air around and mask the seagull noise at night.

Loved how modern, tidy an clean it was. Spacious and with everything you'd need.

The apartment building was a little rougher looking. But the inside of the apartment was top notch

Lovely interior, freshly refurbished and extremely clean. It was a home from home.

I really liked the freshly renovated apartment with its nice decorations. I felt really coazy in the apartment.
