The Blue Heron Villa

NOTHING!! This is probably the worst accommodation I've ever rented.

The house seemed to have been abandoned and not properly maintained for long time. 1) mold 2) awful strong musty smell in every bedroom and every bathroom. Musty stinking towels and bed linen. 3) everything is dirty. Bathroom walls haven't been washed for ages. Mold in the fridge inside. It's disgusting for me even remember that. 4) no nets on the windows. Due to a neighbouring family of monkeys you can't leave windows open to ventilate the house while you're away. 5) impossible to contact the host via any messenger. Booking.com provides only a number with an Australian code, and this number isn't registered with any app. Actually, the host sent me sms - you only can sms him. Even calls didn't work - calls were forwarded to an answering machine. The first message of the host was "Can you pay in cash?" That's it! He/she even didn't greet me, neither texted his name. 6) I emailed to the host through Booking.com service asking about a password to WiFi, by the host didn't reply. 7) there are no dumpster around, so it's not clear what to do with trash, which you won't want to leave inside in order not to attract ants. 8) a next door neighbour offered my friend to introduce him to her 23yo daughter who "looks like 16 and wants only a foreign husband". Facepalm. 9) no food shops around. Within 15min walk from the house you can by water only. *** We had been looking for an accommodation with 2 bedrooms and a kitchen in a quiet area. And this one was almost the only option. Don't make our mistake! You'll find silence here, which is rare in Kandy, but you'll sleep in a disgusting nasty barn.

Location and fully equipped kitchen.

The only negative was no proper place to keep the clothes as the cupboards didn’t have shelves. But who cares when the rest, especially the safe neighbourhood was excellent?

The Blue Heron Villa is a charming property with spacious rooms and lucius surrounded greenery.  You can't hear any city noises, just birdsong and nature sounds. It's the perfect place to relax! And the property manager Tharanga was very nice and always helped us during our stay and also showed us the Kandy city. To reach the city, due to the distance and the steep gradients of the roads, it is advisable to take a taxi or tuc tuc. We really enjoyed our stay here!

The villa felt like a home away from home. The host welcomed me with a fruit basket which was such a thoughtful touch, he was very polite and helpful. The villa was very clean and comfortable, would definitely recommend for others.
