Hotel Restaurante La Villa de los Dioses

Espectacular ubicacion sobre el Lago Atitlan. Habitaciones con balcones sobre el lago. El desayuno lo podes pedir en una terraza con vista espectacular. Muy recomendable.

Cuando lo reservamos no teniamos claro que solo se accede por lancha hasta el hotel. Igual hay un servicio de cortesia para llegada y salida, y luego lanchas economicas para los traslados. Tuvimos problemas con la temperatura del agua caliente que apenas salia tibia.

Such a beautiful place. The bed was incredible with crisp, wonderfully smelling sheets. With a view of the entire lake. All the staff were so nice. Wonderful to have use of paddle boards.

I felt like I was in Italy. It was so fun getting to the place by boat and having it on the side of a mountain on a lake.

Beautiful location, great food. The owners even did a cooking class for us. Highly recommend.

Location is spectacular and staff really tried but were not put in position to succeed. Emmerson did a great job arranging boats and cars for day trips from the resort.

Hotel staff was extremely poor communicating....wrote repeatedly to get info for our stay, ask questions for day trips and verify transport from airport, but answers only came with call to management in US and then still wasn't sufficient. Emmerson was put into this role and clearly he is uncomfortable with it....bad decision by US management. When we arrived, regular cook was off and housekeeper GLadys was assigned to cook...while she is a sweet woman, she is a poor cook. Food was either raw or extremely overvooked. We called US management and regular cook Berna came back on day 4 there and food dramatically improved but poor decision not to have her working when we arrived...maybe we were the only two at the hotel/resort for a reason.....Gladys did not automatically clean the rooms....we had to ask her to service the suite...not acceptible for expensive hotel. Suite was lacking and a bit beat up--no hot water in bathroom sink, sink cracked, hot water in shower only got to warm, not hot....small plastic pkgs of soap and shampoo,,not a nicer dispenser as common now...had to ask for toilet paper..why not just keep an extra roll in room?
