The cleaning lady was nice and hand-washed my laundry free of charge. You can walk to Ramanashramam in 15 min or so.

RED FLAG: manager of the building was acting nice for a while, offering rides and advice. But in the end it seems like he was trying to figure out how to extort extra money from me (typical swindler who talks about Indian saints and religious topics to give you a good impression -- while his main objective is to make easy money). If you're a foreigner, make sure to avoid the manager's low-key offers for 'weed' in order to prevent him from extorting you later on. TIP: If you are going to Tiru, just walk around the streets near Amrutham restaurant, and get a good deal for an AC room (as low as 800 INR per night). This guesthouse is a SAUNA without AC so get ready to sweat all day and night. Building has no WIFI and this neighborhood of Tiruvanamalai doesn't have anything interesting. You have to walk 10-15 min to eat and get everything else. The rickshaw mafia in Tiru won't allow you to get a ride for less than 150 INR, even just to go a single KM down the street (they prevented Uber/Ola from operating in the city, despite the millions of tourists coming in). This hotel is hard to find in maps, so don't follow the street address you find on the internet (it's a fake address).
