Lucky Transit Hotel - Katunayake Airport

The front desk staff was very helpful

Intercom did not work , I had to come down every time

+ Pick up from the airport during the night (extra charge) + ac in the room + toiletries and tooth brush + great breakfast + the staff helped to organize an onwards driver with a local app

The location and could checkin at 5am

Taxi collection at the airport did not work.

Initially got our room mixed up. But managed to get there in the end. Breakfast was served but no dietary requirements were enquired.

The entrance was padlocked at night ( potential fire hazzard). The final bill was more expensive than price shown as vat was not included in price (this was not clearly indicated unless you clicked on price breakdown). Some confusion between the staff lead to us being taken to wrong room initially.

The staff was super accommodating! Made sure we had a car ready with breakfast prepared on time for our flight to the airport. Made sure to double check with us about every piece of information to make sure that everything was provided for. The owner drove us personally which was a nice personal touch.

Air conditioning was very very loud in the room and unfortunately the only way to make it quiet was to unplug the whole system. It is too hot to sleep without AC so we had to sleep with the noise. It’s manageable though.

Excellent hotel close to the airport. Lovely rooms and excellent staff.

To be honest, nothing.

I'm going to write an honest review and urge other potential visitors not to stay at this hotel. During my visit, my credit card was stolen; regrettably, I discovered it after a few days. Around 3000 USD has been spent on illegal transactions at the nightclub in front of the Lucky Transit Hotel. I tried to find out who had taken my card, but I was told that it definitely did not happen in the hotel. After a few days, one of their employees reported to the hotel manager regarding theft. It appears that he was terrified of what he had done. Then, he was gone or he got some help to escape. They already new about the issue and let him go. I can't believe the hotel owners didn't realize he was leaving for two nights in a row to have fun at the nightclub in front of them. I reported the event to the local police station, and they are looking for him as he is missing. I have received the relevant police reports. Unfortunately, I went to the hotel owners, who stated that this is not their responsibility as the individual is no longer employed there. He was a member of their staff at the time, so they bear full responsibility for what occurred. This is only a caution for the other guests. Better to choose an other hotel. Take care.
