Parking is difficult

This quaint cottage was everything we could have imagined. Sitting up a lane way off the main road, the traffic noise is limited. The interior of the house was gorgeous, clean and roomy. The appliances were adequate and modern, and we had a fantastic time there. If you are after a traditional yet modern English cottage in a quiet location this is it.

The cottage is cosy and well located for exploring the area. It was a bit cooled outside but the heating in the house works very well and makes the stay comfortable. We stayed with four adults in the house which was a good fit regarding the size. The kitchen is well equipped and could easily handle 8 people when it comes to plates and cutlery. Beds were comfortable and the bedrooms get plenty of daylight. You could even look to the stars from the muster bedroom if you don’t close the blinds.

As already said, the kitchen is well equipped and looks really great. However, it could be a bit cleaner. Nothing dramatically dirty but also not spotless clean (breadcrumbs in the drawer and on the chairs, fingerprints on the cabinets and dinner table). I understand that it is very difficult to keep a kitchen in a rental spotless clean, specially if you have a glass table and shiny cabinet front with touch technique but the grade of cleaning could have been better here.

The cottage was well equipped, cosy and a good location for exploring Devon. The bedrooms were a good size. The beds were very comfortable and the bedding was a good quality. The wood beams and staircase were beautiful and created a country cottage experience.

Access to the property and car parking is a little tricky but the host provided detailed information on advance on this. Some coffee machine pods and logs for the wood burner would have been a nice welcome touch. The quantity of hand soap and toilet roll was sufficient for a group staying for a long weekend.
