Casa SOFIA La Spezia

The apartment was clean, spacious, near a bus stop and supermarket. I was picked up from the station by the owner and taken back there when it was time to leave town.

It's close to a main road and a working harbour. Mosquitoes made their way into the apartment when I opened the windows. I haven't seen many units with fly screens in Italy but they are useful.

Spacious apartment in a good area (restaurants and supermarkets nearby, downtown in walking distance). Our host was very friendly and tried to help us plan our trip to cinque terre.

Large kitchen but not enough equipment like no sharp knives, only one pan, very few glasses and no wine glasses, no toaster and no spices except salt and pepper. Also we couldn't hang up our laundry to dry because there was no laundry rack (only one on the balcony but it was raining)

This was a lovely surprise. The owners were amazing and even offered to pick me up from the station. Very friendly and showed me around the property to explain how things worked. Apartment had lift access, ceiling fan and AC. Even had maps and timetables for trains and boat trips, which was helpful. A really good sized apartment near a supermarket. Recycling facilities. The walk to the boat ferries did not take long and the walk to the train station seemed less than it was as you can go through the town passing shops, cafes and restaurants. There was also even a Jazz festival going on and a Friday market in July.
